snippets of cannery row
… pieces of Cannery Row… a crane near San Carlos Beach… pointing to Cannery Row… seahorse and octopi cookies near the aquarium… working together at the seahorse exhibit at the aquarium… mural near the water… a rose named voodoo.
The name is ominous, but what did the rose look like? Anything like your favorite donuts or coffee of the same name? Maybe it’d put some spring into the steps of a deer that’d munch it.
What’s funny, Stick, is that everytime I visit the La Mirada Art Museum in Monterey, the Voodoo rose is bare. I have yet to see the dang thing. (And also, my apologies… it’s the only photo here not taken on Cannery Row)…
No apologies needed, the museum is close enough. I’ve seen that garden several times, and while the walls around it are impressive, the roses have never been.
I googled the rose, here’s what its supposed to look like.

Ha, brig, saw today’s Garfield and thought of you and Harold. Yesterday’s was cute also.

I must say that it made me chuckle, too, Stick. Smiles.
