Running… for something…

… I dunno what. Harold might be up to something.

Cartoonist Pal of Awesomeness, Aidan Casserly, created this little ditty. I swear, he’s an up-to-no-gooder! What am I gonna do now?

I need a commercial to run alongside. Wait… I’ll get Harold to do it! Where’s that FlipVideo camera?

On another note, and sure to cause some political SCANDAL… I will accept KAPU drink recipes through this coming FRIDAY. Yah… if you wannna submit something to the little drinkee-poo contest, email me with the recipe by Friday at midnight and the Drink Judging will begin! (Scandalous photos may be taken… political spies are everywhere!) And thank you to those who’ve already submitted… Harold is anxious to try them out!

All Is Well!

Okay, Squiddies… I am happy to report that my whole computer fiasco of last week… has turned out to be a Happy Catastrophe. Meaning… everything has worked out okay. The fine folks at my local Apple Store (Thanks Apple Friends) have successfully loaded up my extracted old files from my dead computer onto my new computer and so far… Everything seems to be okay. Thanks for the kind thoughts and the prayers. Smiles… they worked. All things are proceeding in a proceeding as normal fashion.

And from this little posted pic, my awesome pal, Aidan Casserly created this! I didn’t even know I wanted to run for office… Harold never mentioned anything to me…

Getting to know the MBP…

Well, it’s late… I’m nearly brain-dead and zombie like… and I am getting to know my Mac Book Pro… it’s nifty, very clean and I like the black keys. After 2 hours at the Apple Store tonight, we got my new laptop working, synched with my phone  and I’ve loaded up the Wacom and my new copy of Creative Suite. Photoshop CS5 is so different… it’s going to take some time getting used to it.

The folks at the Apple Store near me (Monterey) have been so patient and helpful. I give super big kudos to Cindy, Brett, Robin, Edgar, Matthew… and Jay. Yes, I’ve worked with all of them. They are still trying to crack my old MacBook and get it to spill out all the files that I am terrified that I may have lost.

But through all this, I stick to one of my mantras… that everything happens for a reason. I’m sure all this is going down for some purpose that will become more clear later. I have faith that all things will work out the way they are supposed to. So I’m still smiling despite all the work I have to do this weekend.

Ps. Thank you all for the well wishing and good thoughts and crossed fingers… I appreciate it. Thank you for your support through out.

Well,Squiddies… My computer just died… This is extremely bad news as I am on a deadline… So I am writing to you from Judy’s iPad. I want to tell you to back up your computer… yes, back up your info. The fate of my hard drive is still unknown at this point… But I do have a new Mac Book Pro chillin’ at the Apple Store and hopefully the contents can be transferred ala Frankenstein mode. Prayers are welcomed… So that said… Things may be slow on my end for the next few days. Daily toons okay thru sat… After that… Uh… Well, not sure.

This means extension on the kapu drink contest…
Thanks for your patience!

Well, I gats to tell you’s… It was an amazing weekend! I feel so excited about meeting some wonderful fellow tooners… and some amazing established-in-the-industry tooners… such as Adrian Raeside (The Other Coast), Brian Crane (Pickles), Chad Carpenter (Tundra), Danielle Corsetto (Girls With Slingshots), The Mastroianni Bros. (B.C.), Mell Lazarus (Momma), and so many others! Gah… I was geeking out with all the incredible energy in the Seminar… And I feel energized to implement a lot of the amazing ideas I copied down on paper. I will follow up this blog with some recap and photos soon… but for now I gatta get some work done (three day weekends are hard to come off of, y’all).

****Oh… and the shopping cart is functional again here on the site… feel free to use it.
