In a random manner… A fall Acacia tree in my neighborhood. I love trees but can’t seem to capture their spirit when drawing them. This photo was taken a few years ago… but it is as gorgeous today as it was then… except with a few less leaves. As fall dwindles into winter, enjoy the changes.
First off… I am sorry that I forgot to post a Random Foto Friday… my bad… I will not forget this week.
Second, I was gnomed thru the mail… by a fan! Susan, a Squiddie, sent me this advertisement she saw… and forwarded it to my office. I warn you all… the gnomes are finding ways to get into your homes… I caution you! Don’t fall for this! They are disguised as something you like or enjoy… they will cause havoc and trouble… so beware! (THank you, Susan, for bringing this situation to my attention!)
Also… as a reminder… The next Art-o-Rama zine is nearly complete. (It may have a bit of gnomish-ness inside). If you don’t have a subscription… want one, or want a copy of this coming issue of Art-o-rama… email me at brig@squidrowcomics.com …. THink Christmas gifts here, folks… Why not give a copy to a pal, or better yet, a subscription!
Truly a random photo… this was taken on my first trip to Paris back in 2008. I visited the Louvre for the first time… and photographed as much as I could. It was so overwhelming. There are masterpieces stacked on masterpieces on extremely high walls.
Now if you follow art circles and the news in general… you know that there was a treasure trove of paintings re-discovered in Germany. They were stolen by the Nazis from Jewish households in WWII. Among them are works of Matisse, Chagall, Picasso and so many more! They total over 1,400 in number.
There are some amazing works included as seen here:

This is much needed to counteract the needless proposed burning of priceless artworks stolen by that fool in Rotterdam.
I love Bob Hope. I admire his incredibly sharp wit and his dedication to entertaining our troops. It became his legacy. San Diego, a big Navy town, saw fit to honor Bob Hope’s commitment. And what a great name, eh? Leslie Townes Hope was his real name and he was born in England. I’m sure that living up to one’s last name can be hard, in some cases… not in this one.
