Randie at Rollickers Coffee

Randie got into paint over at my coffee shop. The coffee joint in Squid Row, Rollickers Coffee, is actually Rollick’s Coffee in Salinas. It is steps from my office and it is a favorite haunt…. my go-to joe coffee joint.

The reason for the mural is that the window was smashed (for the second time in less than a month) and the semi-temporary ply-wood fix needed some art! So I offered my services along with Trish Sullivan and her Hartnell art class… and we put our heads together… and made it happen. Here’s some of the action…

Authors Panel Pics…

Being a part of the Salinas Library’s Local Authors Panel was most enjoyable and rather exciting. I was honored to be asked to join the group of outstanding and noted authors who reside in this area. Each writer had a unique vision and shared what inspires them and their work. I want to thank those who came to the lecture/discussion and the amazing folks at the Salinas Library for arranging such a wonderful event.

I did experience a bit of a techno-panic when I found out that I wasn’t going to be able to access my powerpoint notes from my ‘puter… my laptop was going to be on a stand in the middle of the floor and not right in front of me. So… I winged it. I was able to remember the gist of my speech from the podium…. C’est la vie… it actually worked out fine…

It’s done and on its way….

You can expect a little Art-o-rama in your mailbox soon… They went to the Postals yesterday. Can you believe its been two months since the last issue? Sheesh.

In this issue…. Cartooner, Chris Dreyer drops his puns on us…Spring abounds, and if you like collage… you’ll like this issue!

Next issue, number 5, will be about Summer Travel/Vacation… (I’m gearing up for a big trip, myself… TO FRANCE!) Expect some hype in the next issue.
