I spent nearly all day yesterday in The Cartoonery. Open Studios is next weekend… and I wanted to give the office a nice shine. I rearranged all the art on the walls, spruced up the plants, and moved a few things around. With a nice carpet cleaning mid week, the Squid Row Studio is going to Sparkle!
This past weekend, I boothed it at Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf and Custom House for The Art of the Sea Fest. The sun was shining all day, which was somewhat surprising… and I enjoyed talking with booth visitors and tourists and fellow artists and fans. Here’s some photo documentation of said event… (“people shots” courtesy stick-fig).
New Event… Scheduled for this coming weekend… It only makes sense Squid Row would be involved.
AND… I’ve printed up some “sea” prints… previous comics in large format that have to do with the ocean or a certain octopus… (Gus!)… all are signed and are a mere $10 bucks each.
Really, folks, this is a deal… you get 6 months of art & comics PLUS some groovy art… all for a fifty dollar a year subscription rate. Lemmie go all PBS on you… that’s less than (um, carry the one…. excuse the feeble math skills)… $4.25 a month! Think of it this way… You’d be supporting a cartoonist, getting stuff and art… and you aren’t even paying for postage! AND you’re getting Squid content you aren’t getting online or in the newspaper…. So for the cost of a Double Mocha Frappa-something… one coffee per month… YOU could be getting STUFF! Okay, PBS-thing over. Go back to reading comics.
*If you wanna get your subscription… send me an email with your mailing address (and you can send me a check)… or just go to Etsy (Search: SquidRowComics) and follow the tres simple instructions.
**you can also do the regular subscription without the art… and that’s $30.
It was a fun time in Oldtown last night.
Somos’ Make and Bake Indie Craft Faire was a rousing success! I had a really good night and I want to thank those who came out and the Somos peeps for putting on such a great show!
