Save Daylight
Fuh! Nothing ruins the happy Pop’n Tart joy like “hey, you’re late!” One good thing, though… Pop’n Tarts travel well.

The cinnamon poptarts are the best ones.
/back online intermittently after breaking my right arm
I’m with Randie; I had NO idea that today was DST. My cell phone…which is also my alarm clock…is on the fritz, so it didn’t automatically update the time. Hence, I was an hour late taking my grandparents shopping. You can imagine the guilt heaped upon my head.
Uwg… Okay, how did you break your arm? (and welcome back!)
Dawnie… Rats… you were tricked, too! I, even after drawing this cartoon, forgot to set my clock forward… but I didn’t hafta go anywhere.
brig,
Sounds like you were at least able to have a happy hot-pop’n moment.
The breakfast bites do travel well, though.
And if hungry enough make for great snacks cold and unbaked, as when back packing, rock climbing, camping or even just plain, ol’ long-distance driving.
Seems like they’d make good theater munchie chow too, though I never tried this one.
I sympathize with Randie on this one. I woke up and discovered I had slept in until 1 p.m., only to then realize that I had actually slept in until 2 p.m.! I totally freaked out; I never sleep that late!!
I had a photo assignment this morning. They forgot (when they scheduled the event) that today was the first day of daylight savings. They moved the start back 1/2 hour, but even so there were people who arrived too late to start on time. One guy got to the start line after his group had started – they had a 2-3 minute head start on him. He just jumped out and ran anyway, and he won his group! He might have had one of the fastest runs of the day if he had started on time.
I love the end of Daylight Wasting Time. It’s SOOOO nice to have the extra hour of light at the end of the day instead of the beginning. It also makes it much easier to be up in time to catch the sunrise!
We had a rainbow (full arc, from ground to ground) this afternoon in SJB when we had the faintest drizzle around 5 pm. Anyone get rainbows in Monterey?
And, of course, Daylight Savings Time will strike again in November, when Randie shows up an hour EARLY for work and realizes she could have spent that time in bed.
Pete… I woke up 20 minutes late today because it was really 5:22 not 6:22 and it was dark. It’s hard to get used to that. Randie will most likely fall into that scenario in Nov. She just don’t pay no attention!
JC… Argh! And yes, we do get fine rainbows. I have seen many a few coming back into Salinas from Fort Ord areah… right over the lettuce fields… but of course, I’m always driving so as to not capture a digitization.
Meg: 2? Whoa… that is some serious sleeeping!
Stick… movie theatre snack? Yah… great Idear! Also, if you’re in the car, you can just put the pop tart on the dash board (ontop of the foil, of course) and let it warm up… it’s like having a built in dash toaster! Mmmmm.
Although I had seen the sign at work warning us about putting our clocks forward, I still forgot about it. When I saw the computer was an hour faster than my clock, I realised what had happened, and adjusted everything accordingly. As it is, I wasn’t affected work-wise, because I have Sundays and Mondays off 🙂
And good thing, eh?
