Ryan realizes that he’s got the wrong cart at the check out and still goes ahead and pays for it and takes the stuff home with him? I might understand someone getting distracted by getting a free checkout aisle tabloid read of alien kangaroo babies and dating, overweight music stars getting caught eating the food of underweight movie stars…but he knew he had the wrong stuff in his cart…and still bought most of it. No condolences. It must’a been better than his selection.
Makes me think of a scenario with a mom taking two kids to a pet shop to pick up some oh so organic pet food. The two little boogers take turns distracting her while traversing the store and leave her with some extra goodies at check out. Hmm, maybe a tarantula, a snake, several assorted feeder mice, a couple kittens and, perhaps, some bagged up goldfish. They do a real good distraction job…although get caught in the end when the tab runs a bit too far north.
I know someone who, to avoid embarrassment, would have done the same thing Ryan did…except he would have purchased the mascara and cold cream, too! LOL!!!
Well done. I really like the pacing and then the final punch at the end. This was a joy to read.

I once knew someone who used mascara on their mustache. Don’t ask why, because I don’t know … was too nervous about asking them that myself. o.O

Dada… I don’t think that there’s anything crazy ’bout it. Ryan just wouldn’t look GOOD in mascara. Besides… He read “Clockwork Orange” and then saw the movie… and it scared him.
stick… those items got past him before he realized there was something horrible a matter… rather than making a fuss… he just plucked a few items out.
