It seems that this storyline has coincided with a good lot of catastrophie in the real lives of people I know (and love). I wrote the storyline weeks ago… and the fact that Randie’s horrible circumstances and her emotional upheave-ment are aligning with these other yucky happenings is pecular. Drawing Randie and her sadness is actually the sadness I’m feeling for others. The worry, the “lostness” and the shock are all there in Randie’s eyes and the way she hugs her best friend (and Harold).

And Ryan… he’s Mister-I’m-going-to-help-you! He’s the fella everybody wants on their side. He’s a walking band-aid.
