Yat… 5:00 somewhere… yeh, I’m a fan of Jimmy Buffett also. Or in this case it might just be… Jimmy’s Buffet. Well, at least as far as Grace is concerned.
Oh great, The Artbox is already up against the ropes and now they’re upsetting their regular customers…the shop’s bread and butter. Well, for the time being, at least everything seems to be as usual… Randie is oblivious. Grace is indifferent. Mouse is fending off ulcers. And… Carol is conveniently out-of-the-picture.
Now, now, be fair to Mouse. He’s actually showing some fortitude in keeping his mouth shut. A true mouse would cave to the pressure and spill the beans, especially under Grace’s withering glare. It would be a different kind of courage to decide, while away from the others, that he must speak and then steps up to do so.
But IMHO that would be foolish – I’m with Carol on this one. This is one of those self-fulfilling prophecy kinds of situation. Tell the staff, they bail in a panic, now the store is guaranteed to fail and any possible prospects for sale just got scared off. Start boarding up the windows, you are done.
Hold the course, hope for a buyer, and they might be able to pull it out and save the staff’s jobs. Granted, if Carol were a better leader she could tell the staff what was going on so they could be looking for alternatives, just in case, and be able to inspire them to wait until the last minute.
But it’s Carol we’re talking about, so I’m not surprised – even she isn’t a fool when it comes to her ability as a leader and knows she has to go the stealth route.
And I take it that it’s now a recurring thing, for new comics not to post until later in the morning? Problem with the server clock, or is this the new update schedule? Not griping if it is – do what ya gotta do, by all means. 😀
stick… Mouse… ulcers… ha! Yah… poor guy. And Carol is always conveniently somewheres else, isn’t she.
EofO… yah, referring people to Carol would be a good idea… IF she was ever around!!
Grey… good points. You can see why Mouse is on the fence here… it’s not an easy fix… Grace is an evil bat. She’d be the first to run. And then the great escape would commence… maybe… Randie would probably keep a foot in the camp because she’d wanna help Mouse out (and not abandon him) but still keep her eye out for solid employment.
Grey… My apologies with the updates. My tech fella has been engaged elsewhere and has not been able to address my website issues. He’s going to try to break the system today… ahem I mean fix it. Cross your fingers, all.
Ooooo… stringing us along, huh, Brig? 😉
I’m surprised the gang hasn’t put 2 & 2 together to figure out that the store may be closing.
As for Grace being at lunch, it’s always noon somewhere. Just like it’s always 5:00 somewhere.
Pete… yes, there’s string.
Yat… In which case, it’s time for dessert and coffee somewhere.

It’s not Grace’s fault–she ordered the pencils, after all. She ought to refer the irate customers to Carol. As for Mouse, he’s living up to his name.
