Aww, Randie (and Brig)…I know this feeling wa-a-ay too well. At least now my brain’s shifted gears to it being revolutionary web sites/articles that I proceed to never/rarely read.
We NEVER do that… ever!
Not counting our 30,000 comic books, my wife and I own about 5,000 books and are FINALLY getting them up on bookshelves where they belong! We double-sized our house and when they finish work in a few weeks, we’re putting in bookshelves around our Great Room walls that will be about 12 feet high. We’re installing a library ladder on rails to access the higher shelves. I’ll keep my hundreds of research books up in our Loft library where I’ll be doing most of my writing. And, of course, we have an iPad, Kindle , and Nook available. To be honest, I prefer the “real” book. Ninety percent of my novels sales are as ebook, but since I do everything else on computer, for reading I prefer paper, cover, spine. 🙂
We’ve read most of the books, but like Randie, have bought some the still need to be read.
Pete… Most impressive book collection…and you read from it too.
I’ve seen lots of those fantastic book shelves with the library ladders in pictures, films, television shows, only they seem to serve as wall art.
I have some books but due to current living space they’re mainly boxed up. I did have a mouse problem in the past, ala yesterday’s comic, but thankfully few of the books were damaged. I do read newspapers voraciously, however, and clip, copy and file articles away for reference.
Ha. I recall a cooking book period also. Got many of them. A few are easy to pull out, most are boxed up. Anyone else do this?
Joe… bookmarked sites that I never go back to… things I say, “Yah, I’ll read that when I have time.” Gah… to quote Daffy Duck and some of the best advice ever (esp. for a procrastinator like me)… “DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW!” (or shoot me now….)
Pete… THAT is exactly what I wish to do…. Massive library with ladders! My increasing comic/art books… and Judy’s “Home for unwanted and discarded from her school childrens books” and Nelson’s sci-fi and history… gah! No room in our little bitty library!
stick… a while back, Sassy brought in a mouse… I’m not sure what the point of it was, but she let it go in the itty-bitty library… where it stayed for an unreasonable amount of time…. mind you, we had a kitten and a full grown cat… the mouse should not have been apprehended by the efforts of two full grown women… sigh… anyhow… we extracted it (we did not kill it, but relocated it) and the only damage done was to the Halloween wigs and some purses in the closet. Twinkie SHOULD be doing his job… he’s caught mice before…. but only when it’s convenient for HIM.
YES. I do that. I still have a pile of ‘how to break into the animation industry books’ sitting right behind my drawing table that I have only briskly read. I blame this on the ADD that made us into cartoonists in the first place!
I see that you DID get to see Danielle Corsetta!
I had a suspicion that you would. GWS and Squid Row are in my own personal top ten webcomics list! Wapsi Square and Ralf the Destroyer are included in that list!
Well, it’s a GOOD thing only ARTISTS get this malfunction. ::coughs:: Yep, doesn’t happen to ME … ::glances over at the collection of programming books he bought but never finished reading::

Can’t see Twinkie’s face…must be chewing on a book-eating mouse.

Ain’t that the truth. Luckily, I have put a stop to that bad habit of mine. My rule is: One book has to go to make room for a new one. No HOARDING!
I like the new light turquoise color for the swirls 🙂
Me too.

That’s why I mostly read fiction.
I do this, too. :^( BTW, I love the softer background!

Yeah, yeah, ok … busted. 😛
