Even worse — when you try to ignore them, they show up demanding attention.
I used to read the Sunday comics on the floor when I was a kid. Didn’t matter what I did or where I looked, the cat ALWAYS seemed to know EXACTLY which comic I was reading when he appeared, and plunked his butt right down in the middle of that cartoon until his head-scratching demands had been satisfied.
Now I lay the comics out on the kitchen counter, where the cat is forbidden to tread.
We had one we couldn’t even PHOTOGRAPH. Had an uncanny radar for cameras.
Yuh, DCS, that’s just like a cat… They show up, curl up on your lap, just before you were about to get up for a munchie!
My cat always sits on my sketchbook and attacks my pencil.
