My fiance told me a funny story about seagulls when he used live at the beach as a kid. He said in the winter they’d huddle together for warmth on parking lots and whenever a car headed for them they hover just high enough in the air to let the car pass and settle down right back on the ground again. I guess it got too cold for them to fly very far. XD
Yah… no snow… no (oil) spill… just chilly cold weather… you get that wind off the ocean and your teeth are chattering.
And seagulls, those curious creatures… are interested in just about any food, including bologna… but I have no scientific proof. But I am most amused, Mr. McDuff… as I just wrote a sunday on the very subject of bologna & a ra…. Oh, I don’t want to spoil it. Tune in 3 weeks from now!
Nice pic Brig, only if seagulls really used that bench that Randie’s sitting on as a roost, there’s no way on Earth it would be as clean looking as you made it.
Brrr, that long wet grass looks the coldest of all.
Hey! Is that a sea otter floating on its back in that little cove among the rocks?
And, is that the Moss Landing power plant with the twin smoke stacks in the background?
Hmm, if so, then that center cloud is likely of the wo/man-made variety.
Nice details, yet missing hot cocoa &/or coffee.
Mmm, mocha.
for about four or five days in either january or february, we on the central coast are treated to temperatures in the upper ’60’s to mid ’70’s, after which the temperatures plummet to a more seasonal mid ’50’s until the beginning of may.
Fried or barbequed bologna goes well with hummus. Put some hummus on the bologna and enjoy. It’s delicious.
Seagulls will indeed try to eat anything. I once watched one trying to eat a seastar. It could only get one arm in its mouth, and could not figure out how to get its beak around the seastar’s next two outstretched arms.
Thanks for the compliments, Stick. It is an otter… and it is Moss Landing (or as I call it, the weather machine… it always looks like it is pumping out clouds). Where’s that little Vespid Coffee Van that comes around? Have you seen the little Ape? It’s an adorable little coffee dispenser!
Firedome: Unfortunate timing on this toon. We are having lovely weather here, aren’t we?
(So, are you enjoying your books?) Take that, Jammie! (until, like Firedome says… it’s about to get super cold again).
Hey, Brig, I don’t know what you’re complaining about! What a bunch of wimps. You could be having the weather the East Coast is having — snow and freezing rain.
Today my sister and I went out and sunbathed in the 72-degree, beautifully sunny weather. There is a REASON I live in Arizona!
I love the speculative look the seagull has as it peers into the bag 😀
Even seagulls won’t eat balogna.
Oooh. Fried balogna. That’d be good…

Litsue,
Runing car engines give off heat.
Sorry thast should be running not runing.
At least there ain’t snow on the ground there.
Well, I guess this is one “Spill” that’s not going to ruin the environment.

Ohhhhhhh…
My bologna has first name its… O… S… C… A… R…
My bologna has second name its… M… A…………………
ACK, wait, I don’t want to spoil it ahead of Brig’s big reveal.

BBQ bologna… maybe Randie ought to try that…
