In A Book
You do. You lose track of time and place when you are in a good book. That’s why I read while I’m on the exer-cycle…. either that or I’m on Facebook.

Been there, done that! (usually IN Class, though.)
Also a REALLY. REALLY good way to miss a night or two’s sleep.
Oooooh, boy. Ain’t it the truth. ‘The fastest way to lose a day is to look inside a book’. – Trevor Bond AKA my Pocket Philosopher. I’ve been late for so many things because of books….. Not sharing which ones though.
A good book will keep me up so late at night to finish it that I won’t look at the clock to see how late it really was; that way I can fool myself into thinking I’ve had enough sleep the next morning!
I’ve missed my share of bus stops thanks to books.
Oh yes. I’ve had to put a reminder above my bed in block letters ‘NO BOOKS!’ because otherwise next thing I know it’s sunrise.
there were times when calling my name wouldn’t rouse me from the book.
Heck, there were times where passing your hands between my eyes and the book wouldn’t. You would have to stick your hands there long enough for me to not be able to tune them out and go on reading.
I’ve fallen asleep many times holding up a book
…and then he walks over a cliff (and the worst part is he loses the page he was on)!
Ha ha! You are all such bookworms!
Now, who among you have iPads or Kindles that you read on?
I, myself, would rather listen to a book than read on such devices. However, you are reading a comic strip on an electronic device… but that’s different.
I have a Nook I keep around for reading downloaded library books and fan fiction, and I take it when I travel because it’s easier to carry than a bag full of books. But all in all, I prefer the dead-tree version.
I prefer the Dead tree kind, too, Chug… but I agree, the iPad is easier to carry around.
I’ve got a Kindle; loaded with more free (and a couple paid) ebooks than I can ever read. Just glad I’m retired, I’d lose my job otherwise.
I got a….. doohicky….. specifically to get ‘The Long Shadow of Harold Gray’. Now it’s got more books on there than I can remember putting on it. Which is good…… if I have to move even MORE books than I have right now, I’ll never be able to afford to leave my current home!
