Good Friday
It’s true! It’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Day AND Good Friday (it should be self-evident!)… So make yourself a PBJ (or in my case, a PBJB… Peanut butter and jelly and butter… mmmm… it makes it creamier, oh, yes it does). And if you believe… reflect and feel blessed… it’s Good Friday.
As a kid, I would eat peanut butter and bread and butter pickles. I remember them being tasty. Hmm…
So which corporation came up with PB and J day …?
Now Crow, your cynicism is showing…Peanut butter is a great American institution. Invented by George Washington Carver to provide a protein-rich food for invalid patients, it has kept generations of picky eaters alive and well. My brother Jim wouldn’t be alive today without PBJ.
For me:
PB & Banana
PB & Sweet Pickle
PB & Velveeta
PB & Mayonnaise (which tastes a lot like PB & Velveeta)
And Good Friday is truly a blessed day, with Easter only two days away! (It’s off to Peace Lutheran in King of Prussia, PA for me.)
Yeah, Pete! I love the PB and banana! (But the mayo may qualify you for mental health services!) I checked my info…I hate to be wrong, but J.H. Kellogg had the first patent for peanut butter in 1897…but it was Carver’s idea. Happy Easter everyone!

Is St. Martha’s the church Randie went to on Easter last year? That comic inspired me to start attending church for the holidays (Easter, Advent, Christmas)! Time to get in touch with my roots :)!
