Mmmmm…. eggnog and fruitcake!
I used to make a fruitcake every year. My challenge was that I made it in September (so it could soak in cherry brandy for a few months before Christmas) but had a hard time finding the candied fruit I needed. After a while it became impossible.
No longer! I finally had the light go on and looked up how to make candied fruit! As a result, I’ll be making a fruitcake for Christmas 2010 that will be FANTABULOUS!
So for those of you who love fruitcake (both of you), let me know in about a year and I’ll send you a slice or two.
You can make/buy your own eggnog, though. 😉

It’s particularly obnoxious in my RSS reader, where it tries to render full size.

Mmmmm, I love fruitcake! I’ve never tried making my own… my Mom usually sends me some every year (now that I’ve said that…) But your cake, Pete, sounds fabulous! Count me in!
I had some Christmas pudding last year (with the flames and everything, just like at Bob Cratchit’s house) and I was most impressed… it had soaked, too… in something delicious.
