I’ve always thought it funny that your Twinkie cat has only one fang. It’s like the single fang of a cat in another favorite comic, “Get Fuzzy.” Is there a backstory on how Twinkie lost his fang?
In “Get Fuzzy” the cat is named Bucky. He’s a wise-cracking conservative republican know-it-all type. He lives in the apartment of Rob Wilco (advertising copywriter, loser and yet voice of reason), with Satchel, a wimpy, dopey, liberal democrat pit-bull that the cat always exploits. Well there’s also a ferret named Fungo in the next door apartment who is Bucky’s arch-rival. The cat and ferret had an earlier fight, and Fungo wears Bucky’s lost fang around his neck.

Hmm, speaking of going back and adding a ray of sunlight later, some may recall a…..uh…..”Pearls” strip I offered a link to previously, that had Rat finding religion and deciding to celebrate it with a not-so-kind Lenten fast resolution. Well, today the very same exact strip was rehashed only with some…uh….modifications. This one also has the cartoonist Stephen appearing as….uh….himself.

PS: Brig, there’s a nice selling idea here. He sells signed color prints for $75 plus $10 shipping. If you opt to do the same, maybe cheaper….uh….not as expensive, you can let buyers choose what they like and not have to print out anything until the cash is in your hand.

How is it that some dogs don’t deserve the mistreatment they’re getting, while some cats don’t deserve the good treatment they receive?
My guess is because a dog is far more likely to be affected with their condition and we don’t want to break their trust of us. Cats, on the other hand, rely primarily upon themselves and seem less affected by their surroundings. The eternal difference between pack hunters and solo predators.
Stick… I’d forgotten that Bucky has the one tooth also. I’ve read Get Fuzzy and own a couple books. Twinkie, if you’ll dig, was “involved” in Randie’s house fire. Twinkie didn’t fare well in that little disaster… and came away with only one tooth. It was my desire to further disfigure him, but for whatever reason, all the fur grew back and he was fine.
As far as selling prints go, I frame up and mat my “Squid” prints. I cut the specialty mats myself. If there is original art involved, I include that. I feel $150 is worth the time, effort, and materials. I don’t know what kind of staff “Pearls” has, but I don’t have a syndicate helping me.
