It’s Gauguin’s birthday. I actually saw this piece in Amsterdam at the Van Gogh Museum. I love Van Gogh… and this is certainly one of my favorite works by Gauguin.

As a kid, I loved staying up and watching Johnny Carson. This hat reminds me of him… in fact, I used a picture of The Great Carnac (or Carnac the Magnificent) for this toon.
I really dig telephone wires and poles. There’s a lovely one at the corner of my backyard… it looks a lot like this one. In fact, I was staring at it when this idea popped into my head.
This toon was inspired by a piece of fabric laying around the house. It’s so lively and perky… and full of energy… like a friday.
