Seems Rudy’s doing the talking and Randie’s doing the acting.
Toss in love you say? Hmmm. Randie and Kai sitting in a tree, k.._.._.._..i..n..g.
I wonder if Kai kicked in too or just watched.
Personally, I prefer to offer a burger, taco or burrito rather than moolah for booze. Not that a homeless person can’t enjoy being sloshed. Just not on my money.
So…a day and a half of my precious life given over to four years of Squid Row archives, thanks to Trish S’s urging, my obsessive -compulsive leanings, and your wit and winsomeness. So fun to see all the familiar places–and even some faces. Don’t want to pop in to your studio uninvited and interrupt your work, but I’d love to buy you a caffeine fix @ Rollick’s sometime. You simply quack me up, Duckie!
We certainly have our Rudys here. First Methodist does all they can to help feed the folks, and of course there’s Dorothy’s. I must say, though, that in my 15-year reign over Oldtown, I mostly encounter “Montereyans” who are, most oddly, stranded here and need bus fare back…several times a week, or in some cases twice in the same day! Peculiar, this. Some unseen force is sweeping through the Peninsula and depositing people in front of the old Hullabaloo’s. (Maybe George Noory could do a Coast to Coast AM segment on it.) In the meantime, The Emperor and I offer hot Joe and a big, fat cookie from Rollick’s to the newbies. Most are grateful, a few decline, and a few are aggravated that we aren’t helping them get to the Clay St. Market as quickly as they’d like (and I thought Monterey was their destination?)
Just got back from Applebees for lunch. Let them know it was my Birthday. I’m a regular there, so I got a small bottle of bubbly comped. When I go back tonight, I will take a cab so I don’t have to turn down anyone who wants to buy me a drink. Cheers!
Two visits in a day, wow, you really are a regular.
They comped you a small bottle of bubbly? Nice.
Be it that we’re talking Applebees, was that a gratuitous bottle of champagne, beer or 7-Up?
wow that’s very deep ! i wish i could do more good around me, but everytime i do something good, something bad happens to me…. its like reverse karma, i don’t know how else to explain it.
Sparkling wine is kind’a champagnish, brig pulls out it’s sparkling apple cider variant on FF’s. Thank you very much, brig. And with today being a SS (Second Saturday…local art party, a variant on brig’s First Friday’s at her Cartoonery where we met previously) I may be imbibing some of the latter over here in honor of your b-day.
Hopefully the weather’s nice your way. Out here the Tour of California bike race is about to start its first leg tomorrow with a one and half lap of Lake Tahoe, only it’s expected to be snowing there. Tomorrow they will swing into Sacramento, in the rain.
Many of the fans in both place will likely be looking like Rudy.
Here’s one more reason to have fun tonight; there’s a Christian movement that is absolutely convinced that one week from today, May 21, 2011, starts the end of the world.
A fiver!? Randie’s nice.

Hope to see you soon.
Maybe Rudy should be on Randie’s coffee route?

not that i don’t ever do good actions mind you…..
Stick,
Sparkling wine. Nothing spendy, but free is free. I don’t stop by too often, just on my days off.
Joe…

Oops, ment to say, Monday for Sacto.
Gang: I’m out of town at present! So I’m a bit behind!
JOE: Happy Happy Birthday to you! Had you been in town, I’dda bought you a drink and toasted ya, too! Hope it was a good’un!
Stick: It’s a different kind of LOVE… the kind you love your neighbor with. AND don’t believe the whole May 21nd thing…
Empress… WELCOME… I hope you enjoyed “the last four years.” I had fun.
Frank: Smiles are free… and they brighten peoples’ day! Good on you anyhow!
