Smart Art
Does Randie’s drawing look familiar to anyone…? If you live in California, it might.
BUT art co-operatives like this do exist. You pay every month and you get some form of art every month. It might be a package of original art gift cards… or a small painting or the like. It’s a means of supporting the arts and getting something in return.
Show me the Monet!
This Sunday installment must not be part of the current story arc.
Joe: They usually aren’t. I think a number of comic artists do this – Kevin & Kell by Bill Holbrook springs to mind as a good example.
That’s actually pretty cool! Might be neat to start something like that around here, maybe printed stories could be included as well :)!
Astrigali,
Support Kevin & Kell!
I did that for a month. I was the daily sponsor for days that didn’t have a sponsor. This ran from August into October. Kevin and Kell need daily sponsors again! For $5 a day, you can sponsor the strip and have your name and a short message displayed under the strip!
Pearls Before Swine is offering signed original art. Wapsi Square puts signed original art up for auction on Ebay. Others have books to sell, etc…
Joe: Sorry, but I’m one of those self-centered people that likes to indulge on luxuries. You know, like food…
Astragali, my sentiments exactly. 5 bucks is something I make for overtime hour (+30%). Taxes included.
Astragali,
Yes, I know your pain. You could become a starving artist by supporting other starving artists. Ryan feels that Randie is trying to do just that to him.
There are a few empty storefronts around here and I wonder what could go into them and make a profit. Enough so that I could hire a couple of people to help out and have money left over at the end of the month. This could be like a second job leading into retirement.
Switching hurriedly back to Ryan and Randie… Randie’s plan is sort of an upgrade on what she does to Ryan anyway. Except that in the loop diagram, there are only paints shown, rather than paints, food, coffee, etc, etc… 🙂
Bridgett’s turning into Nina Paley!
I had to look Nina Paley up… and she lived in Santa Cruz! I dig her style… it’s like Keith Knight. I wonder who came first.
