Ob La Di
I had a little fun here but… I give total credit on Kai’s song to Judy… who’s quite the silly song writer… and a Beatles fan. Randie really ought to be singing a blues song, though.

haha, I like the “all too much” reference at the end. 😀 Being a Beatles fan myself, this was hilarious…but depressing.
I don’t think reiterating her problems in song format is going to do much for her mood.
Dave… yah… and an obvious British band to boot! However, the blues is singing about your problems, and that actually makes ya feel better. (“No one leaves this place without singin’ da blues”)
Megan… I am glad you got the song reference at the end. I, too, love the Fab Four…. and did a fair amount of listening to them as I drew this toon.
To respond to Astragali’s comment yesterday about hoping not to see Randie whining about her current circumstances. Randie is highly bummed about Ryan leaving. You’ve seen the relationship betwixt the two and to not show some of her grief would be “untrue.” … BUT I think you’ll be surprised by how things progress.
Brig,
I’m not familiar with your Beatles reference, but I did like your “Adventures in Babysitting” (singin’ da blues) one. Ah, more twists in the forecast, you say? I’d be interesting to see a juxtaposition. Randie getting past Rye and not caring one way or another anymore only to have Rye fall apart and become broken up over the whole separation matter. Sadly, I’ve been there. If only Randie can just get involved with a rival guy, well, Rye may have a bit more to consider. Nonetheless, I’ll keep my eyes peeled to this website to see how the story unfolds.
btw: Best of luck for more newspaper coverage….you should also try the digital tablet, laptop to go web papers that don’t have any comics yet (being the first is like being the chosen one in market positioning parlance), like “USAToday” or “The Daily” which is Rubert Murdock’s (of Fox television, 20th Century Fox movie studio and Dow Jones/Wall St. Journal fame) newly launched subscription-only, i-Pad-only interactive digital newspaper. Hey, Murdock reportedly dropped $30 million to make The Daily a reality, so a bit more for Squid Row shouldn’t be a big deal. Try hitting up this guy: Jon Miller who is News Corp’s Chief Digital Officer.
Ciao, Pete
Logging on with my parents computer tonight. Long weekends mean visiting the folks. Now my mom won’t be upset when I leave on my California vacation next weekend.
Brig,
I will send you the details and a picture next week. I should arrive on the first, but I have to make sure. Looking forward to it. I will post in a few places that I will be at the Cartoonery on the 4th(Firday) for sure, so you may get a few extra visitors that day.
Stick… thanks for the well-wishing. I’m not sure how offering my comic here for free could translate to someone wanting to pay money to see it in an online newspaper. But in any case… I keep plugging away at the creative end of things… you’ll be seeing a book out later this year… but shhhhhh… I’ll wait for the big announcement.
Joe… looking forward to meeting ya!
