Merry-making Squiddies!
Wow! That was a super humdinging evening of December First Fridaying! Oh, joy! Harold and I had a superb time! I have more photos up on Squid Row Mama’s Flickr site! (give me some time on the descriptions… heck, make up yer own!)
Oh, yah… thanks to stick-figurer… it got “wiggy” there at the end!
And Harold collected lots of moneys for the Salvation Army! (Thank you all!) And Thank you all for not only coming out… but helping me merry-make this wonderful holiday season! My Squiddies Rock!
Oh Yeah, that was some fun First Friday’ing at The Cartoonery.
For those who could not attend, here are some highlights:
— Much warmth and welcomeness.
— Musicians in the hall outside, singers, a guitar strummer and a drummer putting out festive carolling music.
— Mexican style hot cocoa with whipped cream inside, plus sparkling (i.e. fizzy) apple juice, red vino, and oh did the eggnog flow (two cartons of the sweet, rich, creamy cream stuff).
— There were several fruit cakes (two were even of the edible variety) along with various sugar and chocolate cookies and some super piroshkis made by Squidman’s mom…there was a plate with assorted piroshki dipping sauces on its outer edges (yup, many sauces, one plate) that inevitably became one well-mixed combo-everything sauce.
— There were bags of foil-wrapped chocolate candies, some shaped like colorful, festive holiday gifts and others like more unfestive, black coal chunks.
— Harold acted as a bell ringer, and donation-ers got to shake his hand and ring the bell he was holding. Besides the bell, he was decked out in a sweater with a Christmas tree and as the night wore on took to wearing a gray knitted octopus, or was that a squid (?), on his head. Hey, others were having fun vamping it up in a blonde Randie wig, so Harold went for some toupee action of his own.
— Speaking of the wig. So that’s what was inside that giant box I brought early in the evening–it contained a blonde halloween Randie wig along with some small to larger accessories–which only got opened later in the night as there were just too many folks moving about earlier with precious little room to spare. Both Brig and her accomplice-in-merriment, Judy, took turns in hamming it up as they discovered their inner Blondeness. Wow, not even comic Randie acts THAT blonde. For happiness sake, appologies to any blondes reading this.
Ha, here’s one of me and Christmassy Blonde Randie-Brig.

Oh and thanks to the silk screen guys for making up lots of festive holiday, take home, Randie prints. They appear in the top photo in this blog.
A fine account, stick! Yes, it was quite an evening of joyous merriment! I can’t thank my Squiddie community enough for helping celebrate! Stick… your wig was so much fun! And the bell was brilliant! Smiles upon you!
“Santa made me a blonde! My wish came true!”
