This toon is a reference to the West End Celebration I’ve participate in for the last several years. It’s in Sand City, where I resided for a year, which is an industrial area near Monterey that has about 300 residents, many of whom are artists. It also is home to many corporate stores in the East End of town… and all the artists live in the West End of town. The gnomes are all over.

I’m trying to recall: Have we seen an “origin story” as to why Randie is so upset around gnomes? Or is one coming? Or is it, “Just because… they’re GNOMES!”?

Astragali… Hello there! Yes, I have, indeed, seen this book. I thumbed through it finding the tips MOST helpful and even writing down a few … there’s a nice video series tied to the book as well.
Pete… I do believe that the origin’s of Randie’s gnome fears are still a mystery. Maybe we’ll get some insight in the future.

Honestly do not see the appeal of garden gnomes. I just don’t. Why not garden……. I dunno, elves? Garden manticores? Where are all the garden hydras? Why limit yourself to gnomes? I’d get a garden centaur if anything.
