Xmas Coming
Sigh. I wish that there was more time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love the season but hate the hurried nature of it… so much that I feel pressured to enjoy it more and wind up NOT feeling IT. I must admit, the procrastination doesn’t help much.
I don’t know, I kind of like the fact that the season is short by necessity– scarcity makes you enjoy it more. If it were much longer, we’d have time to get used to it, and it wouldn’t feel special anymore.
Yes, I know I’m weird.
Dani: That’s a good point. It’s that very reason that I complain when I see Christmas stuff put out around Halloween at retail places.
There is more time between them up here :)! Hehe, sorry to beat a dead horse. That was just too easy.
I kind of like the American set-up a bit better. October feels super crammed with Thanksgiving and Halloween so close together (and my birthday too, though that’s not yet a national holiday). November on has Remembrance Day on the 11th which, though I 1000% appreciate it, it makes the whole month a bit too sombre.
As much as I love living in America, the run-up to Christmas is kinda scary… It sneaks in around October, and then, as soon as the turkey and yams are digested… BOOM! We’re in “Christmas!Christmas!Christmas!” mode.
Good thing I stopped celebrating it.
Back from Thanksgiving with the folks! Did everyone have a good week?
My mom and I went shopping. She found a light winter coat that says it was marked $29.00 from $150.00. She wonders why they can’t well them at that price all year.
She didn’t like my answer so she asked one of my sisters the same question. She was probably given the same answer because she didn’t bring it up again.
Winter is coming.
More snow is on its way here.
The Sun hides from me.
I didn’t get enough leftovers! I think there will be another turkey in my near future!
No shopping for me. Not even online.
Well…just think of yourself as ahead of NEXT year’s Christmas.
I soooo relate to this comic.
I want to be on top of it these year, but I just don’t want to buy Christmas gifts in November.
