I made the mistake of showing someone an unfinished chapter of a novel I’ve been trying to write for years. They really liked it and wanted to see more, but I’ve been too distracted by other things to do more than seven chapters and there’s always more that I can add to them. It’s one of the stories I discussed with Brig and Judy while I was in Calif.
ha, ha, Backstory. That’s funny.
And the Fore-story is about, oh, uh…um, wait for it……him and Randie???
Well, Gallo did say, “I will sell no wine before its time.”
da Vinci had said, “Art is never finished, only abandoned.”
And, Rogers did sing, “You gotta know when to show ’em and know when to fold ’em.”
This comic does speak volumes of my stick-figures and triangles…
My cartoons (stick-figures) are in storybook/animated movie form and can easily have additions added in. My behavioral patterns (psycho-triangles) are in draft form and so are easily updated, enhanced and modified…ad nauseum. Ah, visual perfectionist tendencies coupled with ease of updatability, lack of deadlines and major launch aspirations.
Hopefully, Ryan’s going to change the names of his inspirations to protect the unsuspecting.
Joe… “It’s one of…?” How many unfinished novels are you working on?
Totally know what you guys are talking about. If you talk too much about your work before it’s finished it’s like the inspiration get’s zapped out of it. :/
I’ve been blessed/cursed with being a “seat of the pants” writer. Save for copy editing corrections, my first draft is my final draft. It’s a blessing because I finish novels and short stories quickly, but a potential curse in that thinking it through may improve the story. (Or ruin it, if I got it right the first time through.)
Where I will spend a lot of time is in research of the facts, be they real or fictional.

Good move Rye. Gotta show ’em when you’re ready.

Stick,
I’ve lost count. Sometimes, a great title is all I’ve got to show.
Joe… You mean like, “Snakes on a Plane.”

This is the point where you politely borrow the book from his hands and HIT HIM OVER THE HEAD!
Ryan knows that you don’t drink the coffee until you’ve stirred in the cream and sugar (although, he drinks his black)…
Stick… You always change the names, but sometimes the characters are the spitting image of a person…. and you can just tell.
Dada… hmopb… forward to the next toon! (That’s Holy Mother of Peanut Butter!)
