Work Woes
It seems as if neither Mouse nor Midge are happy with recent work developments. Perhaps they should team up and open their own comics-gaming-art supply store.
Rant: It’s amazing to me how many badly behaved/inconsiderate children I witness in stores and public places. I blame the parents. Thus panel 3.
Is the copy of “Out of This World Adventures” Mouse is holding an original or a reprint?
Oh geez, we used to have people drop their kids off at the burger king I worked at in Ottawa, then drive across town to do whatever, even work. They just expected us to babysit their brats all day, and the kids were inevitably out of control. We used to call the cops, turn the kid over to them, and then wait for the inevitable nasty phone call from the parent, who was mad at US. Three of them ended up in court, but I’m not sure how that ended up. We got off the hook, I know that much. Seriously people, don’t abandon your kids anywhere. Strangers shouldn’t have to look after your problems. Get a babysitter!
AMEN! Even the library – parents will just drop them off and leave them for hours. I can’t stand it. We have called cops if they aren’t picked up by closing time, and we always get yelled at.
There was a lady at our church who worked as a nurse in the ER. On New Year’s Eve, there were always a couple kids dropped off unannounced so their parent could go out and have a terrific, drunk time.
They’d show up later the next day to pick up their kids and wonder why they weren’t getting them back…
RN… it’s hard to say… it COULD be an original… It tickles me that you looked closely.
Trev… It disturbs me that some parents do this. I cannot imagine … how old were these kids?
Anne… GEEZ! Yes… library babysitting… granted, libraries are fun places to hang out in general… but who reprimands a misbehaving dropped off child!?
Pete… indeed. Dropping your kids off at a hospital??? More Geez!
