Wilted Xmas Plan
Life imitating art… as I was drawing this toon, I looked over and saw that my own poinsettias were lookin’ a bit parched… sigh. I, too, cannot be trusted with live things.

don’t worry, living things usually make a lot of noise when they need to be “watered”..
Randie needs a Snake Plant (sansevieria – roughly). They survive anything. She can wrap a red ribbon on them for Xmas.
Or just put them out in the rain! Works for me….Poinsettias revive wonderfully! They sort of re-inflate…it’s weird but true.
I can relate with this. If I ever even touch a potted plant, it dies. It’s led to some akward situations…
I feel your (plant’s) pain. For years I was capable of starving a plastic plant to death within two days. I UNDER watered cacti.
I’ve gotten better, but only because we don’t keep plastic plants around the house anymore.
Luckily, as vogerl said, kids are way more likely to let you know if they need routine maintenance.
How do you do with silk plants, Pete?

The silk worm consortium (SWC) got an injunction against me. It's illegal for me to own any living thing that has the word "silk" in its name.
Hiyas. Happened upon your comic t’other day and have been steadily working my way through the archives. Quite impressive – sorta reminds me of a cleaner version of Questionable Content.
Anyhoo, I can identify with this one. I live alone and I have no kids or pets. When people ask me why, I tell them I can’t even keep a PLANT alive for more than a few days.
