Weird Stuff
I see eights. Usually in pairs. It started happening about 6 years ago. I see them on lic. plates frequently. I’m not looking for them. I’ll let my eye wander or I’ll be deep in thought and then BOOM… eights. I have friends that see 3’s. And I’ve found a facebook page about people who see 11:11 a lot.
I am haunted by not only 8’s… but also synchronicity. I will read a word and at the exact moment, I will hear the SAME word either on tv or a person nearby. It’s strange. Anyone else have this strangeness?
It’s interesting with the numbers, although I think you’re noticing them because you are looking for them, but maybe not intentionally. Eights are supposed to be good luck in Chinese lore. The Olympics in China began purposely at 8 o’clock on 08-08-08. A newsprogram had mentioned that Vegas chapels were getting a lot of reservations for 11-11-11, by those seeking luck. Then again you may head to the gambling mecca seeking luck, but luck my chose to hide from you. Myself, I don’t follow random numbers too closely.
Incidently, Happy Veteran’s Day and Fun Friday.
11-11-11… I see… 63. Get it? Huh? Get it?
*sigh* I guess it’s true… there are only 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who get binary and those who don’t.
On Memorial Day (in the US) we honored those soldiers who gave the last full measure of devotion that we might be free. Today, on Veteran’s day, we honor those soldiers who gave so very much – those who were weighed in the balance and NOT found wanting – that we might be free. If you see a vet, thank him or her. Thank them for your freedom and your safety. Thank them for their example of love of country, love of duty and love of others before themselves. And then promise them you will gladly do your duty as a citizen to support good government by word and deed, aid the weak and ailing, and promote the general welfare.

As Grace is being charitable, R&M should have her stack the sketchbooks while they munch the donuts.
As for numbers…there is that 12-21-12 sequence coming up next year. You know, the end of the world, a.k.a., the end of the Mayan calander (Wow, some calendar in the form of a building (not the better known round Aztec calender picture based on it) that covers 5,126 years. Only now some scientists are saying it may be 60 days out of whack. Darn it all. Anyone got a mole?
Yes, happy Vets Day… I remember my dad… who was a vet of Vietnam. Here’s to you, Pops.
Stick… the thing is, I DON’T look for them. The same thing with the synching. It just happens. Funny… my favorite number as a kid was 7, which as you well know, comes before 8. None-the-less, I do use the number 8 now, quite a bit in the strip.
…and Twinkie cleaned up Randie’s place?
Now THAT would be awesome! Cats should at least vacuum up their own cat hair!
It’s three’s for me, things happen in threes’s or I see them a lot. Of course, there’s the old Hollywood superstition of death in three’s, somebody famous dies, and then etc., which seems to happen a lot of the time. Many of my great-uncles and the hubs great-uncles were in WWII, my dad was a Korean vet (I’m a Navy brat), and my husband and I met through the Army National Guard, (he was medical corps doing the physicals and I was going in to the band), and my son-in-law went through a tour in Iraq.
Ruth… Many Happy Vets Day to your lot! We had our First Vet’s Day Parade here in Salinas… and it was packed! Not only that, but it was cold and rainy and that didn’t keep people away! No sir! They came out in droves to honor those in service!
