We Can Do It
If money was no object, and you gots the entrepreneurial spirit, what would you do? I wouldn’t mind opening an art supply store…. I used to think about that as a young adult… “a maybe someday…”

Mouse might need that college fund something fierce if you don’t hire him.
My dad had similar ideas about my college fund.
He didn’t pay it back when he turned out to be wrong.
A craft store??? Are there that many local folks in Cypress City with lots free time and money to keep such a place alive in the current economic climate? The art store at that location sure didn’t survive.
This plan (scheme?) reminds me of a bumper sticker that would appear on the back ends of gigantically big motor homes. It said, “We’re Spending Our Kids’ Inheritance.”
Hmm. They may succeed or their Pfaff money may go Pffft.
Double Hmm. Entrepreneurial ambitions? Well, there’s changing, or should I say updating, all of psychology and consequently all of the world with stick-figures and triangles. Oh wait, I’m already working on that. Oh double wait, there’s still more work ahead before launch. Better get busy.
PS: When I was thinking up a screen name I went between “triangulator” (behavioral patterns) and “stick-figurer” (therapy cartoons).
PPS: Sunday. 3pm west coast time. Har-Bowl. Younger brother, Jim’s 49ers expected to beat older brother, John’s Ravens. Yeah. Also, the Niners have never lost a Super Bowl appearance; 5 previous appearances, 5 previous wins. And the last time Super Bowl they played at the New Orleans Superdome (1990) they beat the Denver Broncos by the biggest margin in S-B history, 55 to 10. Double Yeah.
Sorry, off subject.
There was an article yesterday on the public station down here about how gnomes are taking over Oakland. That’s pretty close to you so I thought you sholuld know.

stick– the question is, did the art store fail because there wasn’t sufficient profit in it, or because the ‘manager’ mis-managed it into the ground? They certainly didn’t seem to lack for customers most of the time.
Mary… how ’bout it? He has some options here…
Sm Dave… Um… poo! Does that fall under the category of “use it or lose it?” or wait… did he use it BEFORE you had the option of using it?
stick & chug… It is safe to say that the poor managing skills of Carol caused The ARtbox to fail. No matter what Mouse did, he didn’t hold the reins to the buisness. He could print reports and organize best he could, but it couldn’t save money mismanagement.
stick… “is spending our kids’ inheritance” … is inheritance an entitlement?
“stick triangle” just wouldn’t have the same ring, would it?
I know the Super Bowl is this weekend, and you are excited about it… but could you keep the football chatter to a minimum? Facebook will have plenty of that enough.
Rob! Thanks! I will check it out!
Well, if mouse’s aunts make a go of it, I do wish them luck. Cypress city could use more stores like this. Anything to help creativity.
hi brig,
Are inheritances and college funds guaranteed entitlements or gifts of privilege? Hmm. For Mouse it may be a moot question.
My moniker is about studying and calculating. (stick-)Figuring falls into that group as does triangulating, but not “stick triangle.” Thanks though.
It’s hard to not root when your team has not had a Super Bowl appearance in 18 years, and I’m not on Facebook, but I’ll try. ehem, whoop, whoop. What with a SF Giants Super Fan in your household, you must have experienced some cheering during the last World Series go round. Hope you understand.
Oh, and your entrepreneurial ambition may not have landed you an art supply store to call your very own (not yet at least) but your cartooning work is a nice compromise, and likely an even better outcome.
Squid guy…. well, there’s always hardware stores. They can be fun, too.
stick… I didn’t have a real sense of what I really wanted to do, truly… until I was 30 years of age. I felt the calling to comic stripping after a wonderful turn of events. I had already been doing cartooning for some time… gotten my fine art degree, and was working in an art supply store…. But it all works together… in an artsy, life experience-sort of way.
We’d open a campground in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado or Arizona. There was a time a couple years back when it looked like we were going to come into some money – enough to buy/build a campground. We even flew out the Colorado to look one over.
Alas… not to be. At least, not yet.
Pete… a campground with a comic book shop?
