But hasn’t she been earning a bunch of money/tips from her coffee selling second job? She *should* have put some in a Vespid fund, though I assume a good portion has gone to art supplies as well.
I was wondering when this storyline was gong to show up. Love the way it’s starting out. This could be – is almost certain to be – a terrific experience for Randie in the art of “making money”. I’m GLAD you didn’t just have Em give the vespid to Randie, Brig. You went with the excellent writer’s choice. Brava! 😀
How’s Randie’s credit rating? What’s the Blue Book value on a used Vespid? How many miles are on it?
“Jimmy Chow”? That’s it! Let’s all chip in and help Randie buy it! Um-m-m… I got three more days until payday. Could someone loan me $20.00?
Mast… Oooooo, the peppermint frogs look tastey… Randie could try… but you may have noticed, she’s not a talented cook. She’d probably ask Enid for help (help=make me cookies please).
Randie has a real money spending problem… as soon as she gets money, she spends it. That’s why making her bills is often difficult (besides the fact that she doesn’t make enough to cover said bills).
Which leads to credit rating…. um… not superb. Joe… the 20 bucks would help.
Thanks, Pete… no “magic Vespid” here… Life is often like that. No magic carpet rides, even for cartoon characters.
Ooooh, at first I was thinking Aw, Em’s not so bad after all! (I started thinking a bit ill of her after learning she hooked up with her old flame just because of some rumors -.-) and then saw the Jimmy Chow part and went back to disliking her. Haha, but at least Randie gets a chance to buy the vespid. I would jump all over that too even though I’m as broke as I can possibly get; if she doesn’t buy it, she might be inclined to give up her coffee job! Because bicycling isn’t nearly as fun, or fast, as vespid…ing?
Chase- I am glad you don’t think Emily “so bad.” I did not set out to have her break Ryan’s heart… she just progressed to that area of the story. Sometimes characters have a life of their own. Relationships are often complicated and she had a lot going on.
Maybe Randy can make some of these:

I’ve made the homemade snickers before, they were pretty good.

I think the Friends of Randie ought to get together for a big benefit yard sale. At least then it’ll be hers, and she can paint it.
Randie should have Fred at Joe’s buy it for the coffee shop and then let her use it.
And, should he say, “nay,” have him co-sign a bank loan for it.

Meybe her coffee boss could help her buy it.
