Tourist Mob
Last weekend was really the “ushering in of summer”… So let it begin… (the tourists are coming, the tourists are coming!) … and so they shall flood the restaurants, recreation trails, and hotels… bringing their cash, kids and strollers.

Cue the otters, gulls, pelicans & seals…the amusement park is now open.
This is about the time we get rid of the last of the snowbirds. You can have ’em!
I don’t know how you got a pelican expression change with only a couple of surprise lines, but I almost spooted tea on my computer going from frame 1 to frame 2 🙂
In my hometown, the tourist season is about a week (Pro Football Hall Of Fame Festival – late July to early August).
I live somewhat north of there now.
In the early 70’s, I lived aboard a sailboat in Redondo Beach. I loved the peace and small-town feel of the place in the winter and during the week, but weekends in the summer were a good time to be elsewhere, preferably out to sea.
If it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them? (jk)
And that is why my favorite time to be a tourist anywhere is October or March. Just as many cool things are happening with a hell of a lot less other people around:)
Bb,
That’s why I spent early March out in California to visit Brig and to play the tourist. The weather was good and not too touristy.
There are times when I miss my old hometown (San Francisco)…tourist time is not one of them.
Your Gulls RAWK! They love the tourist season! Tourists + shops = garbage for Gulls!
tourists + fishing trips + abundant food to go = seagull smörgåsbord heaven
Yah… tourist season means long lines and crowded places… but money goin’ into our economy is a real good thing. So grinning and bearing it… too, you meet lots of people from everywheres! I both love and am slightly disgruntled about tourist season… But Randie should be sketching madly in that last panel, yah?
Jack… thanks… gulls are fun, non? You know! Stick… Yah… amusement park, indeed! Kona… you were down south there about the same time as my Squid Minions, Judy & Nelson…. maybe yer paths even crossed! Heck… I was bouncing around Fullerton at the time!
