To Finish
I can’t imagine the thought of entering college now… not with the price of education almost doubling in some places… UC schools are gouging students today… offering less for more money. Sigh.

Wellllll, if he’s THAT close. . . !
Leo… My dad got just about that close at Humboldt State, and then decided to go back into the Marine Corp. I never understood why.
Even city college has gotten expensive (to think there once was a time when I could take an entire semester class for thirty bucks). Maybe Ryan should start doing what a lot of people do to work through college: become strippers or escorts.
Hey Brig, I tried to post a photo link so you could see me holding my brand spanking new grandbaby but I think your spam filter deleted it. I will try again with a different type of link and see if I can include it. But yeah, I’m a grandma now!
Let’s see if this one works?
Nope, I guess not. How about this one? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g103/PantherKat36/My%20Granddaughter/ProudGrandma_zps38d59d08.jpg
Yay, that last one worked. Meet Paloma, (It means Dove in Spanish I’m told) my new granddaughter who entered the world on January 19th’ around 11:35 pm after 41.7 hours of labor. She weighed in at 8 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long. Mother and daughter are doing fine and I couldn’t be prouder of both of them!
Pashakitty nooo! You shouldn’t post private stuff on public pages..
My son Tim has a plan that he’s following through on. After working seasonal jobs at Terror Behind the Walls and See’s Candy, he saved up enough money to take a full blown bartending course, which he finished last week. The plan is to get a job as a bartender for a year or so and save up for the first year of college. Then summers will be spent killing himself at bartending to build up more money for the next year of college.
With careful management, he may be able to come out with a teaching degree and relatively little debt.
Pasha… I send you many congratulations and much happiness with your new gran’babe… May this new status tickle your heart.
Privacy… it is a strange world we live in. We must be careful of the sickos.
Pete… TIM is SQUISH! WHoa! Bartending does bring in the cash, and it is a job that will never go away… even during the recessions. OH-Oh-oh… and please tell Tim he must read this comic. I have some strips coming up that he will appreciate (next month… but he can read from now on, if he likes…).
It is a good plan, Pete. So long as he doesn’t get too attached to the bar tending… and the money it brings in.
I was able to do a similar plan. I finished my first degree and was able to work summer contracts in that field which paid for my second degree. Got my last degree with little debt that were paid off a couple months after graduation. Now with two degrees and 8 years university behind me I am in no way shape or form planning to go back to study anything. I’m done! Love my career and have another one to fall back on if the first one doesn’t work out without having to take any other class or exam 🙂
Eprinc… Fall back degree… nice. I think having more than one skill is a good idea. I think if they compliment one another, it’s an even better idea!
… and good on you for being all edumacated. I was on the 10 year college plan, but only got ONE degree. I farted around too much.
Thank you Brig.
They are related in the sense that I needed a degree to get in law school 🙂
