The Point
Judy has a Pfaff sewing machine. We thought Pfaff was Swedish or Danish or something. Turns out it’s German… which is just fine. I have German ancestry, too. But mostly, I just like to say Pfaff! Pfaff! Pfaff!

Pfaff!
Nice coincidence, in that the comic mentions “Geek Off,” and tonight, Thursday, at 10 pm (repeating at midnight) on TBS is “King of the Nerds.” Its one of those elimination game shows like Survivor, only the theme and contestants are nerds. Well, the show hosts and judges include Booger and the Head Nerd from the Revenge of the Nerds movies and George Takei…”oh myyy.” If you see yourself as even part nerd, you can’t help but be entertained by this program.

Wow, wouldn’t it be great if Mouse’s arts and crafts store and Midge’s comic book store where in the same building? Oh the possibilities.
Mocking Bard (GREAT name)… hello… and PFAFF right back!
stick… I often find that the comic has an odd timing that seems to coincide with things… Both Geek Off and King of the Nerds seem to run along the same lines, but on a much different scale. George’s plate seems really full these days. But I loved the movie, Revenge of the Nerds… I had the sound track even.
I knew that Pfaff sounded familiar to me! I believe I have a friend that has a Pfaff sewing machine. 🙂 It goes wonderfully with the idea of opening a craft store.
pfaff, phAFF, PHAFF!! It is kinda fun to say 🙂
Pfaff’s Arts & Crapfts? That would be a pfunny name.
Hobbes: “I just like saying Pfaff! Pfaff! Pfaff! Pfaff!”
Calvin: “What on earth is wrong with you?!”
….those of you who know your C&H will get the reference.
Sarah… yah…it was a happy accident… I didn’t really put the two together right away… but I like the connection. Life sure is funny.
squid… I’m glad you think so.
Yah… Wah-Wah!
Dada… ooo… gatta break out the Great Book of Calvin and research!
I now have a cool new alternative expletive.
They ought to stock some of those Pfaff sewing machines along with some artsy Price Pfister pfaucets and also some pfotos of Pfeiffer State Beach (an amazing part of Big Sur, just south of Cypress City’s Monterey influence). Here, check out these google images and just try not to be impressed.

Back in my concert-going days I saw a band called Janitor Joe, who had a bassist named Kristen Pfaff. They were pretty good. A year later, Pfaff joined Hole. A year after that, she was dead of an overdose.
Just my Pfaff story.
Yes, I actually knew Kristen Pfaff. I met her when Hole played in Santa Cruz.
EofO… Fuh and Pfaff? It kinda sound’s like an insult… YOU PFAFF!
stick… Pfiddle dee dee.
uwg… sad Pfaff story…. sad.
squid…. how well did you know her? Was she from ’round here? Brushes with almost greatness…. untimely death-near success …
