Take Bob
Bob the Goldfish has been with Ryan since he and Randie visited The Flounder Festival. Tossing ping pong balls into glass fish bowls inhabited by a 10 cent feeder goldfish is a lousy way to get a pet. But so goes the story of Bob. Gurgle, Randie’s feeder fish, sadly, didn’t make it… but not for the reasons you might think.
I don’t care if you’re incapable of forming any sort of emotional attachment! I STILL LOVE YOU!
For me, Fish = Furniture. The only fish I was even slightly attached to was Popeye, a goldfish we’d gotten… yep, you guessed it… at a county fair. I had Popeye, my sister had Olive Oyl, and my brother had Bluto. One by one they went the way of all game fish and we committed their bodies to the deep of the Madison sewer system.
“So Long and Thanks for all the Fish”
You said it, Dave… but somehow, I think Bob is capable of fish feelings.
Pete… I love those names… RIP, Popeye, Olive and Bluto. Agg, agg, agg, agg, agg.
Dada… aaah, Hitch-hiker…
Sorry I’m late in responding, Brig – I’m only at my house a couple times a week. I broke my arm when I tripped on a curb back on 2/27. (No, ice was not involved.) I got the splints off a couple days ago and am now on a physical therapy regimen. I have 2 plates, a dozen screws and some piano wire holding my elbow together. Been living at my parents’ house during recovery. Orange you glad you asked? š
There was a pet fish in our household once but that was ages ago. I can’t even remember its name anymore.
brig, nice throwing in a green comment balloon for St. Pat’s.
Ah, Bob, he’s sure had a good run under the watchful care of Rye.
Who knows, Bob and Randie’s respective emotional disconnections from each other may make for a great connection. Yeah, right.
Ouch, UWG… that sounds awful! I will hold good thoughts on a quickee recovery.
Stick… uh, yeh, green balloon… St. Paddy. Enjoy the green beer all you Irish folks, out there.
I had a fish once. He and I were like Ryan and Bob. Only thing is, he’s dead. I’m still blaming Pet Smart for his death.
Death by PetSmart?
I’m betting the fire happened to Gurgle, given that one of her post-fire sketches was a fishbowl and a fish on fire…
