Stufftie Job
There has been a lot of gun news in the media news of late. I live in a community that has a lot of gang nonsense that goes on… and Harold gets hugged rather frequently.
Maybe if people hugged their Stuffties more, there’d be less shootings and gang violence.
Public service announcement: Drop the guns and pick up Stuffties.
Sad thing is that most of the violence is caused by people who have a “entitlement” mentality. They believed that if they are owed something they take it by force no matter who they have to kill to take it. 🙁 I believe Nothing is owed to anybody if they hadn’t worked for it.
Stuffies for peace!
That’s why there’s comics in the world.
I’m glad I have P and the little boys to hug a lot.
Now here’s one for you! *hug*
mas… violence is also the fast and easy way to handle conflict. It takes little effort to pull a trigger to get results.
Chug… Yes! Stuffties for Peace! … it ought to be a sticker… or a button! I can do that!
Jack… we need comics!
Eof O… fill them with love, and art… and hugs… and good things. Because if you do that, they won’t need to join a gang, or hurt people.. etc.
This is why I do not watch or listen to the news. They tend to focus solely on the dark nasty side of life and rarely report anything good.
Gramy… I have given up watching the news, too. I have found that my evenings are more cheery. I usually do Google News in the morning, now that I no longer subscribe to my local paper. I can pick the stories I want to read… and I have “Artists” and “Art Museum” and “Paris” tabs on Google News that find those types of stories for me to read. Personalization is cool.
I used to count on Jack Daniels, but my liver says no more of that. Gonna have to find a replacement! As is, news is bunk and I really don’t need that in my life.
Gramy/Brig – I quit watching network news too, but for different reasons. They are now loaded with what I once heard called (and think is VERY appropriate) “junk news”. Because it is the news equivalent of junk food – satisfying and filling but completely lacking in useful, edifying content.
Useless local news, sports news which belongs in the paper or on the dedicated sports networks, local fluff pieces, laughable “investigative reports” (is your tap water sending messages to your cat? learn more at 11!) … the FCC made a deal with the broadcast networks over 5 decades ago that as long as they did an hour of news a day then they did not have to pay for licenses.
That was back when broadcast days were 6am-11pm not 24/7 and the news was NEWS. I say it’s time the FCC tells the networks they go back to the original agreement (and up it to 2 hours now) otherwise they can start coughing over the millions of dollars a year they should have been paying all along.
The idea was to promote a new industry … judging by the thousands of useless channels that are now dying because the web is better, I would say it’s Mission Accomplished, now let’s change the deal.
And as for news now … I get mine from The Daily Show and Google. The rest can bite me. 😀
Oh, and I do watch a few other shows occasionally, but there are certain networks I steer clear of. Like ones with names that sound like animals …
Thank you for the toon Brig. Brought tears to my eyes. The good news is that the shooter was found fit to stand trial. I will try to attend it. Everytime I see a police officer I say thank you. They risk their lives for the safety of ours every day.
