Starving Constru
Ply-wood makes for a good support when you have no money for canvas… found stuff makes for good 3-D sculpture as well.

Back in ’78, just after graduating high school, my friend and I were producing a melodrama we’d written for the Kids Summer Reading program at the local library. I found some cardboard voting booths (California used them for local elections) behind a dumpster. Talk about treasure! They’d make terrific, portable back drops for the play! So I tucked them under my arm, only JUST able to keep two fingers extended long enough to hold onto them, and rode on my ten speed the five or six miles to the library.
The less you have, the more treasure there is.
(Oh… both the Orange County Register and the L.A. Times reviewed our play and gave us glowing reviews.)
Randie’s a resourceful one, that’s for sure…
… which begs the question, Brig: How much of these “Starving Artist” tricks have you actually done yourself? (*checks Brig’s hands for pollen*)
One man’s cardboard voting booth is another man’s treasure… major find, Pete! I hope you photo-documented it properly.
Ahem…. I am more honest than Randie… uh, however, I did recently “trim” one of the downtown succulents (you just walk by them and the petal things fall to the ground!)
