Spilly Gift
My gram has a doll named Moe. He’s a handsome, old-timey, articulated doll with little hair. I played with Moe when I was a little girl, as did my Aunt Bernie. I love Moe… and so I’ve given Randie a Moe, too.

Harold will be jealous.
Twinkie will be investigative.
And, Spill will continue being dumbfounded.
Next time Randie gives Spill a painting, Spill can call it “Elmer.”
Moe, huh?
“You lamebrain porcupine!” BONK! Woobwoobwooob!
stick… yes… I foresee Twinkie being rather curious… and well…. Spill gave ‘im as a gift… he’s out of her hands…
dada… slowly we turn… step by step…. and then do the “Curly Shuffle.”
Moe looks to be sculpted from chocolate. If so, Randie will do him in, post haste.
If not, Twinkie, being suspicious of an intruder in his territory, shall likely do him in.
Either way, Spill won’t need to worry about the renaming for too long.
Kind’a looking forward to Randie doing up a gorgeous seascape at sunrise to be renamed…..
My grand niece renamed the doll I gave her. It is now, “Sara”. It was, “Arale”(Dr. Slump).
stick: If it’s chocolate, Randie will eat it before breakfast. Then she won’t have no Moe.
Empress… (laugh)
Naming works of art can be complicated.
Peter Schikele, the “discoverer” of the composer PDQ Bach, talked about naming pieces of music in one of his records. He said his piece that he was about to play was called the Unbegun Symphony, and it had only third and fourth movments. That was because he was born too late to have a chance to write the first two movements. He remarked that the names of musical pieces, like the Jupiter Symphony and the Eroica Symphony, are not given by the composers. They are given by friends, or the musicians, or somebody. His Unbegun Symphony used to be called the Pathetic Symphony by some of his old friends. “Well,” he said, “I’ve got a new set of friends now and we’re calling it the Unbegun Symphony.”
“No moe”… ha, which is the situation with the peanut butter buckeye balls Judy has made for Christmas.
As far as Moe’s color… it is supposed to be a bronze-y color… come to think of it, a nice patina would be nice.
Michael… that mirrors a recent conversation I had with a pal about “naming paintings” … that the bizarreness of some titles… confuse and change the meaning of seemingly unrelated pieces. It is sure to be an upcoming cartoon.
