G-Wolf… I can SEEEE. Thanks for the tip, more in yesterday’s blog.
Funny, I did not take Calvin as a cross-dresser.
Here are some Calvin quotes I stumbled across.
“Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won’t help.”
“Life’s disappointments are harder to take when you don’t know any swear words.”
“Well, remember what you said, because in a day or two, I’ll have a witty and blistering retort! You’ll be devastated THEN!”
“What fun is it being cool if you can’t wear a sombrero”
“Girls are like slugs. They serve some purpose but it’s hard to imagine what.”
& …
“Careful. We don’t want to learn from this.”
eeek, my eyes hurt with the new background…is it possible to tone the shade down a bit? Are you tweeking the site or is this the new permanent background? Thanks for listening, even if you don’t change a thing 🙂
There we go…the links at the top had all disappeared and/or changed into neon blue with a blue background! lol….so they are back. Maybe was problem on my end? who knows? lol
Wow… the site’s MUCH faster! And larger comics are nice, too! The menu is lost in the curly-ques, though.
Speaking of Sorry being the word of the day… Sorry I was away a few days there. But not really! *hehe* I was doing the author guest thing at SheVaCon. And I got to meet the Fett himself! Jeremy Bulloch, who played Bobba Fett in the Star Wars movies had the table next to mine. We’d met and talked a few years ago, and he remembered me. He is a very proper and pleasant Englishman and a lot of fun to chat with. He and his wife Maureen had a nice time at the con and he and I traded goodies; I gave him a copy of “The Angel of St. Thomas” for his granddaughter and he gave me a signed glossy of Bobba Fett in Return of the Jedi. Okay, I geeked out a bit.
G-Wolf… Thanks again for having me check my browser…nice to have a gray background and effortlessly read the text at this site again. For those having troubles…well you probably won’t be able to read this…but if you can…go to your page settings and use compatibility view.
Squid… Ha. Hopefully the “rockets” come off before everything comes out on your end.
There should be outtake pictures behind each panel, something like the ending of “The Hangover.”
Panel one; Randie doing wheelies with the scooter, racing a bike-riding paperboy on his crack of dawn route, leaving a choking smoke trail as the Vespid sucks up beau-coup go juice, running the gas tank dry and hiking to a petrol station for a loaner can of moto-coffee.
Panel two; Randie taking it upon herself to repaint the inside of the art mart peacock blue using a couple tubes at a time. A delivery comes, Randie pulls out the blue and paints a section. Another delivery, another peacock blue snatch and another section is painted.
Panel three; Randie is trying to catch some desparately needed afternoon zzz’s at home. Twinkie is sitting on the sill of an open window, meeeeoooowwwing incessantly. In her groggy state Randie feels around an endtable for something to throw. She grabs the motif book and hucks it in Twinkie’s direction. The book misses the cat but cleanly sails out the window as he watches. Randie, never actually awake during the entire process goes back to her somewhat more restful sleep-state totally unaware of the book’s unscheduled flight.
Squiddies…. Yah… the site is morphing. There are a few things that Harold isn’t sure how to do and needs to put his head together with Nelson (Harold’s minion and web-slinger). Thank you for your feedback. It is appreciated. I will lighten the background so it is not sooooo in-yer-face-swirly. Yah, I do that.
I am using Safari… and the site looks okay there, but I will experiment in other browsers to see what is happening in other places. But I am glad the site is loading faster and that the new header is making happiness.
For today’s toon… Hugs gladly accepted (nay, encouraged!)
Calvin is awesome and the quotes, stick, are most welcome! (But I missed “The Hangover”….)
Pete… Geeking out is entirely encouraged. And Bobba Fett lives in my Star Wars 4-5-6 memory quite nicely… not so much in 1-2-3 (I refuse to recognize those films). Where’s the love for IG-88, people?
‘Drink coffee, make art’ True that. I’ve upped my coffee intake while making comics. I’ll know when I’ve had too much when my line quality looks like the Peanuts strip.
brig… In “The Hangover” (first one good, the second one supposed to be lousy) a group of guys heads out to Las Vegas for a pre-wedding get away. They wake up the next day with the groom gone, the room trashed, a tiger with them, one guy missing a tooth, and all too soon a lot of people after them. Only thing is they don’t know what happened. At the end, during the credits, there are a bunch of hilarious photos shown that fill-in the missing pieces to the craziness that they’ve blacked out. My stories were a similar sort of after-the-fact panel prequels.
And, speaking of hang-overs, today is Fat Tuesday (aka. Mardi Gras, Carnival), the infamous day of excessively celebratory drunken debauchery that is followed up tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) with the remains of burnt palm frond rubbed on your forehead and 40 days and nights of “I sorry,” trying to remember (or block out) what you did, and hoping for (or against) revealing snap-shots showing up and explaining all.
I’m using Chrome Brig, if that helps…everything looks great now. I think the header was originally missing for a few minutes after the update to the site, which would be why the links at the top were all just text in light blue. After refreshing a few times, they had appeared in their pretty new header box. So all is good now for me 🙂
Thanks for toning down the color in the swirly q’s 🙂
The swirlies are plenty toned down but oh so gray. Maybe they can get a colored soft tint to complement the other grayness? Your header is already a sort of sea blue, so not that. How about a nice green giving the swirls either an packed artichoke bin or a dense forest seen from space look?
My “Status”?
I’ve had a head/chest cold since Saturday. This, on top of overdoing it Thursday by stripping silicone adhesive from a rubber mat at work. Thank the Federal Government for the Monday Holiday, but still had to take today off. I’ll stay home tomorrow as well. Don’t want to spread it around, but I’m out of milk and cookies!
I think the swirlies are now kind of a light blue, at least thats how it shows up on my monitor. Their color is fine for my old eyes. 🙂 If you switch them up again, my word of advice is middle of the road….nothing too bright or dull, best adage to paraphrase though is you can’t please everyone all of the time.
Welcome, Stick, I suspected that was likely the issue. Same goes for anyone having trouble reading the text … if you don’t see a grey background behind the text, check those browser settings.
And love the C&H quotes, they always seem to fit …
brig… This site is looking amaaaaazing!

I have to disagree…the background is dizzying. I understand the desire for change but it distracted me from the comic and is making my eyes hurt…
Everything comes out fine on my end as far as the web site goes.
But…. ” Rocket Panties?”
Not sure about the new background, but I love the new header!
D’awwww! I just wanna give Randie a big ol’ hug!

What a heartless town.

Thanks, Heather… The feedback is helpful.
ARe the swirlies needing further toning down or are they okay? Anyone…?

LOVED today’s comic but not thrilled with the background. For me, it is too distracting. Just my opinion, though.
