You know when I told you this comics spoke to me a lot because it reflect a lot from my life?
Well then again: Our art shop is turning one year old this weeks and I just move out the old flat! (And i just get internet back, woohoo!)
Oh man! I am rather feeling cup-cakey with all this cupcake talk! … and me trying to lose 10 lbs! Not helping… but I brought this on myself.
Ever notice that as a creative person (writer/artists/cartoonist), you tend to project on your characters what it is you WISH you could do? I wish I could eat Pop’n Tarts ravenously… but nay. I wish I could eat lots of cupcakes, but shan’t. So I give these things to Randie.
Val… Good to see you again! AND Wow… YOUR art store is ONE year old??!!! That is how we say “Life imitating Art!” … Is there a French saying for this?
Smiles and I’m glad you’re back!
Rich… you are too sweet. But when I left for France last June, I was 10 pounds lighter. I don’t blame France, I blame AFTER France… I just kept eating… Now I have eater’s remorse! (Not the eating in France part, mind you… I only gained a few pounds there).
I’m on the fence about cupcakes. On the one hand, they’re cute little tasty treats, and on the other they make way too much garbage. Save some paper/foil and just have a regular cake!
Dada… what the world needs is a Voodoo Cupcake place (extension of Voodoo Donuts in Portland) where cupcakes are a bit more “twisted.” THen you’d probably be a bit more embracing…. Black frosting… maybe skulls and sprinkles (or did I just describe everyone of your childhood birthday parties?)
Any kind of cake is a vehicle for booze as far as I’m concerned.
As for losing weight, a little friendly advice that worked for me: it’s less about what you eat than how much you do to shake it. And ditch pop if you drink that.
Jenn… So Judy made this awesome apple crumble thing the other nite… with vanilla bean, oatmeal, butter, sugar and whisky … OH MAN! I think I need to go shake something!
Leo… I had to go look that up. I now remember hearing about the tv show, but have never watched it. So to answer, no. (Is the show any good?)
The premise is that they make Cupcakes in New York that they sell out the back of the Resteraunt they work at. The show’s mildly diverting and “Trendy”.
I’m more of a vanilla cake with cheesecake frosting man myself. With sprinkles, of course.

Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting with chocolate sprinkles. Chocolate filling is also nice.
Red Velvet cupcakes forever!
For me, cupcakes made with the spice cake mix and frosted with a light but tart lemon glaze.

Ten pounds??!! Where do you plan to find them? I can’t imagine where they’d come from…

Is this going to be a “2 Broke Girls” tie-in?

Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Simple and perfect!
Chug… yes… it is simple but GOOD. Would you turn down sprinkles?

It was the Cupcakes that made me think of it.
Brig – I would never ever turn down sprinkles. I don’t turn down colored sugar, either!
Hm…… whiskey apple crumble? Gonna have to give that a try someday soon!
