*sigh* I’m one of those “goodie-two shoes” who only calls in when sick. There are plenty of days that I thought about calling out sick, but I wasn’t sick, so I didn’t call out. Of course, the upside is that when I DO call out sick, they always believe me. And I’m one of those “gets sick once a year” people, so maybe it’s not so bad, after all.
And why is it that “calling in sick” and “calling out sick” mean the exact thing?
When I worked for others… I, too, would not call in sick unless actually sick. I am a horrible liar…. and so it just wasn’t worth it. … and having been on the management side, when employees called in and you just KNEW they were fibbin’, you lost your trust in them. And when it turned out to be a “heavy customer load day”, you secretly wanted to strangle said fibber employee!
I know the feeling 🙂 I wake up, have a miserable start, intend to stay home sick, don’t bother, and shcool turns out to be awesome. Fate likes to make a liar out of you 🙂

I’ve called in sick and felt so guilty about it, I went to work anyway. Somehow allergies don’t count.
For the same reason that “burn up” and “burn down” and “flammable” and “inflammable” do…english is totally whack.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. The clock says 7:00 and it’s waking her up? You’ll have to change that to 4:30 for realism. Or is that just me …?
