Considering the dump she just moved from I’m a little surprised at her friends’ negativity about this new place…small is better than leaky and moldy and disgusting
It’s amazing you not only get comfortable inside a small living space, but if you’re the right mindset, you learn to love it.
We raised five sons in a home that was less than 1000′ square feet. We put on an addition, making it about 1800 sq. ft. and it seems almost palatial.
Randy will do just fine, methinks.
Hey, Brig! Maybe you can give us a Sunday comic that shows off the floor plan to Randie’s new place. Not only will that get us talking about Randie’s new digs, it’ll also give everyone a common “view” of things going on at Randies Cozy Cove o’ Comfort.
Goodness! You all commented so early… meaning many of you were up WAY LATE…
Dada…. shoeboxes are fine, that new shoe smell lingers for quite some time (smells like Payless).
Pash… Oui! They say timing is everything…
Legacy… agreed! Squats are really un-manage-able.
Val… It’s all about space management. I love IKEA… small living is do-able. And creative small living can be fun!
Meem… yes, Spill seems to be downing Randie’s new digs. Perhaps Spill is a bit bummed that Randie didn’t choose to live in Sandoon City, near her. It could that Spill knows how much cr*p Randie has!
Pete… Yes, but can you roller skate in you new Palatial add-on?
AND Yes…. a great Idea… I will actually post it on the blog as I am 4 Sundays out right now… I have a sketch I did to place Randie in her place, so I will post that soon. Smiles on your good idea!
Yat… Well said, Yat… if the plumbing works, and there’s a kitchen and non-drippy ceilings, all is well! We have yet to see this… and who knows… there may be spiders… but so far, so good. A fine choice, Randie.
A person can get so creative in a teeny, tiny space! Randie will learn, as I have, the art of the Swiss Army Knife home. She will also discover the necessity of purging the piles. I am destashing craft supplies right now, which I will donate to my grandmunchkins’ school–already pulled a huge shopping bag of scrapbook papers and embellishments. It’s actually fun now that I know what direction I want to go artistically, and I don’t have to be overly distracted and weighed down with so much stuff I don’t even know what I have.
Heh, my ex-girlfriend sent me a note a few hours ago that there was a house for sale up north in Aroostook County… a nice big plot of land, with a house made from an old rail car… still on wheels, resting on a section of track.
Now that’s a small home.
The Auld Grump, and by ‘old’ I mean it is made out of wood…. I would say that it dates back to the early Twentieth Century, maybe late Nineteenth.
Like living in a shoebox…reminds me of a room I lodged in years ago.
Of course, I post my comment on the previous page just before this page is added. *sigh* I love my perfect timing.
To be fair, small studio with functioning kitchen/heat/roof/etc beats the heck out of ‘barely above condemned’ any day…
Weeeeeell if Randie tidy up regularly it shouldn’t be a problem…
Right?
… Right.

If the roof doesn’t leak and everything works the way it should, who cares if the place is dinky?

“Drop off the key, Lee, and set yourself free.”

EofO…. If I wasn’t trying to cut back myself… I’d be at your place looking for hand-outs.
Grump… Whoa…. sounds right up your alley… or track. Tempted?
