My first car (a 1979 Toyota Celica) was dubbed “Apollo, The Sun Car” due to it’s banana-yellow color which contrasted nicely to all of those lovely rust patches along it’s undercarriage.
My first car was a VW Bug (go figure)… and it was not in stellar shape… It was a bluish aqua color at first (Earl Sheib painted it bright sky blue… very cheerful)… but it, too, had rust, which is cancer for a car. I had some leaky spots which made the car smell funny. Oh, the memories.
