See London
Foyle’s is like Powell’s Books in Portland… many floors of book-loving fun! It would definitely be on Rye’s places to visit.
And, yes… I am a Potter fan. Randie? … only seen the movies.

Can any book store on Earth really beat Powell’s?
If so, don’t tell me…I already blew enough money at Powell’s during my one visit there.
My wife and I loved Powell’s. We visited the area a few years back and just HAD to stop by there.
<shameless plug.Next time any of you are in Powell's be sure to pick up a couple of my novels, okay?
It’s funny that this comic comes on the day after I find out it won’t be logistically possible for me to spend a whole semester abroad in London. Sigh. (I guess there’s always winter break, though!)
When we were in England last summer one of the coolest things for me was that the real rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland is in the movie Hogwarts main hall behind where Hagrid sits.
You have to see Foyle’s to understand.

Poor Randie, a narcissist forced by life circumstances to focus her attention on another.
She must be exhausted.
Me, a Potter fan? I’m so-so there. Have seen the movies. Looking somewhat forward to how the story concludes. Don’t want to spoil the ‘magic’ by reading the book, though.
Just so you all know, Brig is having internet and real life issues to deal with today. That is why her posts have not been more frequent.
I am having real life issues at work right now, but my trip to California is still on.
Stick: Oh, you’re seriously depriving yourself, I feel, by not reading the HP books – the films are good, but the books… the books are so much better.
Astra, thanks for that. The books will always be around for when I’m up to focusining my attention on them in the future. Having read them, will you still be taking in the final half of the final episode sometime later this year? There’s supposed to be a 3D version too.
Joe, good luck with the train ride. Family may be having me back to Monterey next week, if so, I’ll look forward to Brig’s First Friday, and a chance to bump into you there. I wonder if those dark chocolate whatnots that Brig mentioned dipping last week or so for the upcoming open house (Cartoonery) of Friday next will actually make an appearance, or will have long since made a (yum) disappearance.
Astra, that word is supposed to be “focusing.” Sometimes happens to me when I compose-pause and type at the same time.
Stick,
By all means, please drop by. I’m sure looking forward to meeting Brig and all those who show up next Friday.
Stick: I’ve not even watched the sixth one yet, let alone seven part one… And I doubt it’ll be any time soon, either 🙁
This coming First Friday should be humdinging! Wooo hoo!
Thanks Joe M. for accounting for my absence… it’s been a BUSY weekend already! I will try me bestest to reply to comments and emails! And the internet issues are hopefully cleared up. My office internet has been down for over a week because of some ineptitude on the behalf of my internet carrier. It did not come off nearly as smooth as the transition to Laughing Squid.
Anyhoo… Powell’s= AWESOME bookstore. Foyle’s= AWESOME bookstore… and they are VERY far away from one another!
Meghan… aw BOO! Let’s shoot for the next time around. Keep the faith! London still calls.
As a Potter fan, I enjoy the visual movie-verse. But the books are much more detailed in storyline… they are meaty and fun to read. And this is from someone who doesn’t read much.
