Ryan Party
Bwah ha ha! Sounds like fun, non? Or does it sound like a night of brainiac-type activities and book-nerd fun? Last year’s Halloween would be hard to top… (Mouse certainly thinks so!)

W-e-l-l… I bet that Ryan could do a very good reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s stuff…
As for Mouse – maybe he’s conveniently forgetting the effects of all that candy corn (I had to look up the strip to remind myself ;))
I wrote a short comedy skit with two characters I call T.B. and S.B.(Top Banana and Second Banana). The skit I have in mind has a Holloween theme. With Brig’s kind permission, I’d like to post it here.
For a horribly good treat, we did this one Halloween:
First we bought a gallon of fruit punch concentrate. You know, the gooey red stuff you mix into water to make punch. We poured that into a glass bottle IV drip that we owned, then set it on a slow drip into a punch bowl we’d put water and dry ice into. The dry ice bubbled and bubbled, creating this very cool cloud that hovered on the water and cascaded over the sides. (The cloud, not the water.) It also carbonated the water, which gave us carbonated punch. Not only did we have a terrific special effect, guests could also dip their cups directly into the concoction for punch.
You may need to “pre-punch” the concoction before the party, and maybe pour in a couple liters of Ginger Ale or Tonic Water. The punch started out a little weak.
Oops… sorry for the second post:
You can buy dry ice fairly easily and it’s pretty cheap. Be aware, however, that you need to be careful when using it. Dry Ice has a temperature of -110 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can get frostbite from it if you hold it too long. And under no circumstances should you swallow it. But it can be held in your hand if you keep it moving, and wearing gloves makes it safe to handle.
Yah, Astragali… last year’s Halloween toon was pretty fun. Mouse was on cloud nine and sugared up… Randie… sugared out! (sugared right out of it!)
Joe… post away.
Pete, your punch sounds tastey…. I like the drip! Bwah ha ha! (I’ve been bwah ha ha-ing a lot lately… I suspect it is a combo of reading the web-comic Scapula and the fact that Halloween is right around the corner)
Last year we had a Halloween party… it was something fun! We did the dry ice thing with floating eyeballs and test tubes with “mystery shots” in them… We bought this wonderful mad scientist from Cost Plus… A skull and bones sort of fella in a lab coat… so it fit the theme.
Thank you Brig,
I’ll do this with two posts because I’d like to introduce my characters first.
Um, Guys…?
T.B.: Wow! This is different.
S.B.: What’s going on? I’ve never been here before.
T.B.: Don’t panic. Joe got permission to post us here from Bridgett Spicer
S.B.: Isn’t she the woman who draws, Squid Row?
T.B.: Yes. Joe’s going to post one of our bits to see how her fans like it.
S.B.: It’s not the one about the llama, is it?
T.B.: You leave Lleftey out of this. No it’s about Holloween. Hope you like it!
T.B. and S.B.: The Spirit of Taking
T.B.: Howdy Folks! Well, S.B., Halloween is almost here.
S.B.: That’s right! Are you going out in a costume?
T.B.: Nah, I’ll be handing out candy this year. You?
S.B.: I’m taking my niece and nephew out this year.
T.B.: Really? You should stop by my house for candy.
S.B.: Yeah? What kind of candy?
T.B.: You know. It’s little packets of the candy corn.
S.B.: Forget the kids. I’ll be there by myself if I have to.
T.B.: Then wear a costume so I won’t know it’s you.
S.B.: Why do I have to wear a costume?
T.B.: Remember the line from Charlie Brown? “I gotta rock.”
S.B.: You wouldn’t… Yes, you would. O.K.
T.B.: Have a safe and happy Halloween, Everybody!
S.B.: Do you remember those wax lips? I wonder if they…
I have yet to make plans for Halloween, think Ryan could throw an invite my way :)?
Joe: I’d be interested in the one about the llama…
I watch that Halloween special every year… sometimes twice! It genuinely makes me happy. Snoopy’s WWI adventure and the “I gatta rock” and the whole lot just is priceless.
… And wax lips! Yah! Love em! Thanks for the show, Joe.
Meggie: Do you like mind-tingling word games & candy corn? If so, Make sure you don’t miss the Halloween toon!
About the llama…
Over at the Pibgorn comments site, we have quite a menagerie. We have squirrels looking for nuts and even ducks behind the couch. We have a pool where we play Marco/Polo! Someone brought up that they found a llama in the pool and it was decided that his name was Llefty.
Yes, big fan of Charlie Brown! For Halloween, you need candy corn, wax lips and those wax bottles of pop. A root beer behind enemy lines is a great way to end the night!
