Actually, since you bring up this subject, Brig, there’s something I’m confused about, and so I’ll put it to your loyal Squidlets: Is it possible to use Marshmallow Fluff in place of regular marshmallows when making these treats, please? And if not, why not?
And you can find pictures of candy sushi, made from those treats, here and here… the second one is more realistic, but the first one is still rather cute!
Astragali: Yes, it is possible.. BUT it doesn’t set quite as well, since sticky goo is fluff’s temperature normal state. So fridge/freeze it up after making the Krispy Skwares and you should be good.
Brig: ANOTHER fun thing to do with marshmallows: Use the big ones to smush between your fingers. Keep doing it for about three to five minutes and you’ll end up with vanilla taffy. Seriously! The constant kneading hardens the marshmallow, giving it the identical consistency of taffy.
I LOVE rice krispy treats! But I’ve never made good ones myself. I don’t cook, I FIX. If it can’t be unwrapped and slammed in the microwave, it’s way too complicated. Livin on chips and salsa, vitamins and string cheese, mostly…
Wow, you guys is all crazy for the marshmallow crispy treats! Yah!
Okay, so I will try the taffy marshmallow thing… sounds like a fun experiment.
And Kona… the microwave is involved with making rice crispy treats… that’s where you melt the butter… and then you add, the stuff. er… that’s the level of my cooking level as well!
rats… now I want a rice crispy treat.

Pete: Many thanks to you! And that vanilla taffy idea sounds good (and nicely messy, too :D)
I was in a school cooking class for five months and this is about the level of my cooking ability :). But I do love rice krispy squares!

Kona: There’s gotta be a song lyric in there somewhere 🙂

@Astragali: That occurred to me, but I’m not doing reds or cocaine any more. Aint it a shame?
