Grace rarely shows her affection… well, there was that ONE time where … (can you name that time?)
You didn’t know there’d be a pop quiz, didjah?

despite some superficial evidence, grace really isn’t a narcissistic user like rat. i have to wonder what made her grow such gnarly defense mechanisms.
Were this comic to look at life seriously – and I mean a LOT more seriously – there’d probably be an excellent back story on Grace.
Honestly, as much as I hope Grace eventually comes around, I can live without the back story if needs be. Besides, I love the tone and delivery of Squid Row just as it, thank you very much.
I am curious, Brig: DO you have a back story for some characters that may never be divulged?
The softer side of Grace? Uh… well… she gave Randie coffee once… I think, after Randie vocally expressed her like of the photos Grace had up at the coffee shop. ??? Wow, now I need coffee after stretching my brain cells to such an extent this early!!
anatman… there are some hints given in prior strips as to Grace’s past. You can use the tag cloud to explore the Grace stories.
Pete… Thank you, Pete. Grace does have a backstory… as do many of the characters…. Midge and Randie certainly do. Ryan, as well.
When I was writing the story for the eminent Squid Row graphic novel, I was going to show some of Randie’s history… and Midge’s as well… but it was taking away from the overall premise of the book… so I had to scrap a lot of it. Perhaps in the followup book.
Fun Mike… and then there was that grody kiss with Rat that Mouse and Randie endured… but that may be too much for your early Monday morning experience.
Time for Randie and Mouse to try to stay off Grace’s radar until Twinkie decides to grace them with his presence…no pun intended!
Jon… buh duh duh. Yah… I’m afraid with all that is going on in Grace’s life right now, she’s more unpleasant than usual. The black cloud of doom is blacker than most days.
