Resolved
Conflict resolved… Midge is resolved to work in the petri dish that is the new and improved and kid-friendly Backstreet Comics. We also see , from last week and this week’s toons, that Midge is a bit of a kid-a-phobe and a germ-a-phobe as well. I planted this a while back (in the Squid Row archive), when Midge explains to an inattentive mother… Well, here:
Hand sanitizer or body wash?
RN… She’s got enough there, certainly, for a body wash situation… No doubt they will be going through a goodly lot of the stuff.
Aw, come on, kids are a delight! Especially when they’re not your kids and they’re somewhere else. In all fairness at least children can usually be reasoned with, unlike many adults. In the service industry a little reason is a huge relief!
“Wash your hands, turn the page…wash your hands, turn the page…”
If you’re a Gen Xer and loved cartoons you’ll get the reference.
LOL I now have so much more sympathy now for the Duddy situation. I work a library, and we have puppets for the little ones to play with – which is fine, and actually very funny sometimes until they go into the little ones’ mouths, or they wipe mud and buggers on them. We have a place to send them to get clean though, so I just need to drop them in a bucket at the end of the night.
Trev… No, no… kids are fine. I’m coming around on them. Midge… not so much. We’ll see if she turns the corner on kid-dom. I enjoy kids who are of reasoning age… the screaming and crying age… not so much.
Dada… I had to look it up. Google doing its job. I missed that cartoon. It was on the radar, just missed it.
Anne… God Bless you, Anne… for working in a library! You are the keeper of the keys of knowledge … and you deal with children and many other challenging situations. Again. Bless you. And I am glad you have a laundering service for the snotty little puppets. Smiles!
