I can identify with randie on this one, because I hate being pushed into things that I don’t really want to do. I’d rather let things happen as they come along.
New Years resolutions are easier if they are complemented by doctor’s orders.
1) Lose weight.
2) Cut down on alcohol(Doc said “No Alcohol”, we split the difference).
3) Get Blood sugar below 150(working on it).
4) Blood Pressure below 120/80(easier said than done).
Other resolutions include:
A) Stay out of jail.
B) Wake up without a hangover.
C) Keep my job.
I’m with Randie too, for me resolutions are more imagination linked….I imagine I’m going to lose weight at some point in my life, and that would be nice…I also imagine someday I’ll quit smoking and exercise more…having a good idea for how to better your life is great and if you make progress towards it thats a plus, but if you have it all set down step by step then its drudgery and its a to-do list rather then I might like to work on these things list. At least that’s how I perceive it. Also, in the interest of honesty….I don’t actually ever work or get beyond the general vague concept stage of the new year resolutions….and I’m quite ok without.
An arbitrarily set date at which time everyone is suppose to change who they are and be better in all ways seems like a build up to planned failure….too much pressure ect ect. Better to let life be lived organically and fluidly, its more enjoyable that way anyway 🙂
For some happiness is found in the journey.
For others happiness is found in the destination.
Rye and Enid are the journey types. They can’t have an actual destination, as they’ll be miserable if they actually reach it and have nothing more to do.
stick… her apartment is cold… she’s gatta wear a sweater!
While Randie WANTS these things, she often lacks the plan on how to get there. Ryan & Enid are regimented and action-type people…. they can give you steps on how to get there, Randie can paint you a picture.
Joe… I hold good thoughts on your resolutions… I’m not sure on the drinking one.
Dada… Ha! I’ve been watching my kitty “play” with things… she’s doing this thing where she finds stuff on the sink in the bathroom, knocks it off and then looks at it as if to say… “well, would you look at that… it’s on the floor.”

Some will be harder than others.

Also, I’m the queen of typos and thought I caught them all but apparently not! 😛
D: I need a Rye Bread on hand to help me organize my days.
Ryan should become an agent.

As for Randie…
oops…was changing a sentence and actually put two actually’s in it…
Anyhow, if Randie wants to lose weight effortlessly, she ought to lose that sweater

Twinkie’s resolutions:
1) Destroy everything.
2) Destroy everything again.
3) Barf on it.
Happy New Year to the whole Squid Row gang and readers!

Just one resolution for me this year.
1. Live until January 1, 2013 so I can renew this resolution.
It’s pretty easy to keep, I’ll only fail it once, and when I DO finally fail it, nobody can remind me of it.
