Rainy Sunday
Always, always let it go to voice mail, Randie. Sigh… but then there’s this thing called a conscience.
An addendum to this toon would be the flying Randie heads fighting over whether or not she should agree to come in.

Yup, always the way it goes. You plan on a nice relaxing evening in. The weather is either rainy or it’s snowy, (which you enjoy as long as you don’t have to be out in it) and for some reason someone suddenly seems to need you to come out and do something terribly important that only you can do. It’s like the universe just isn’t happy unless you’re miserable.
Pashakitty,
That’s a version of Murphy’s Law; and you should lways remember “Murphy was an optimist!”
[Weird Note: my spell checker recognizes Murphy, and Morphy’s but cites Murphy’s as misspelled.]
Time for a pathetic homily to make you feel all better:
“If the world was perfect, there would be no art.”
Yay!
Look, holding a smile like this isn’t easy. Cheer up, OK?
Phones, unlike people, have a very convenient OFF switch.
Looks like Randie is settling in… while her new abode may be small, she seems much happier with it.
The Auld Grump
Hourly wages. What a wonder.
Millie, meanwhile, is enjoying the rain on the windows and the coffee and hot soup…
viewpoints…. I love the rain too, unless I have to work in it and most of my work is outdoors… I liked the Seattle Area rain in the 1960’s, from 2 AM to about 8 AM every day.
I think it’s the type of worker you are that will always determine whether you go in, whether the weather is or is not good. For the conscientious worker, if you CAN go, you WILL go. (Because if you can go and don’t, you’ll know you’ve let others down and will feel guilty.)
Squiddies All… Yes, if the off switch was off, then there would be no guilt. BUT since the phone was on, Randie will go, but she’ll complain all the way to work… and until her socks dry out.
Sadly, because of the hard rain, I doubt there there will even be much business at Pfaff’s. I for one, dislike doing anything that would require me to go out in the rain, including shopping. I would just pull up the bowl of soup and the coffee and snuggle into a chair.
And Randie is MUCH happier in her new place. So far…. no leaks!
