Pooped
AIL… My cat doesn’t care what my plans are… she sees a lap… she takes it! She’s an excellent lap kitty… and this makes me happy.

We got a new cat recently and he might be allergic to human contact. Just. . . just sits and glares.
It’s not so much a lap as it is my chest. Both Eliot and my friend’s cat Queenie used to come up to me as soon as I showed up. They’d act the same way, even though they were 30 years apart. (Queenie when I was a teenager; Eliot until last year.) I’d sit down and they’d jump up and plant themselves on my chest, lie down, and stare at me with barely-opened eyes, content as could be. The dogs (then and now) will curl up on my lap and by my side.
There really is such a thing as an animal magnet and I’m one of the blessed to be one.
Mine prefers being snuggled up next to my hip. Or curled up in my armpit, if I’m laying down sufficiently.
Dave – It took us two years to completely convince my cat we weren’t going to eat her.
Sm. Dave… glaring…. your new cat is sharpening the ol’ cat skills. Be thankful that new cat is not sharpening the claws….
Pete… You are, indeed, a pet animal magnet person. This is a lovely thing to be. I love having a lap kitty… and enjoy the fact that she enjoys my lap.
Chug… Sassy (although she has adopted the elderly neighbors) enjoys a good armpit.
… cat over a spit, cat on rye, cat with a side of catsup, cat stew, cat…
Cats tend to reserve ‘snuggling time’ for whenever you’re reading or drawing or otherwise occupied with something else. That’s the best time to have the cat plop itself down right on top of whatever you’re doing!
My kitties prefer whenever I’m playing computer or watching tv to remind me at that moment that food time is in 5 hours and they intend to harass me for that full five hours. Its their second favorite activity…their first being eating. lol. But I still love them. 🙂
ps. I love Oatmeal’s name and personality!!
Dada… Yes! Tis true! Whatever important thing you are working on… drawings… dinner, whatever! That’s when they need to become involved.
Heather… ha, yes… my cat is quite on the ball when it comes to “feeding time.” However, she only starts an hour or two before the dinner bell.
And I am glad you like Oatmeal. It was time we had some NICE CAT going on.
