Pigeon Warning
My lovelies and I were having lunch near the aquarium the other day, and these rather aggressive pigeons wouldn’t go away. They kept advancing on our lunch. Clearly, this type of behavior is the result of people like Randie.

TODAY’S TIDBIT: In the 1964 movie Mary Poppins, it was said that Walt Disney was so moved when he heard Julie Andrews’ singing of “Feed the Birds” that he cried. The part of The Bird Lady was played by Jane Darwell. It was the last role she ever played in an acting career that stretched back to 1913. She was 84 when she appeared in that scene, and died three years later.

Nice comic! I received a similar admonishment when my sister and I were sitting on a bench in Toronto and pigeons and an assortment of chickadees and sparrows surrounded us. I didn’t feed them but one pigeon kept trying to get in my sister’s purse no matter how many times she shooed it away. Pickpocket pigeons! What’s next?
Years ago, my wife wanted to feed a loaf of old bread to a bunch of ducks at a pond. Not only was she mobbed by ducks, but while trying to fend them off, a large goose came up behind her and snaffled the entire loaf from under her arm. Good times!
